XVI is among the worst games in the series.
It tries and fails to be a character action game and fails miserably: the gameplay is boring, easy and lacks any depth. It also features lots of cutscene bossfights with quick time events and basically every other modern AAA sin there is.
The story has its moments but the world is not explored at all, you don't even get to visit any of the big cities, just tiny villages.

Music is very good though, amazing even

Yeah it's "fun" but fairly simple. Worst part is most of the sidequests later on get really boring. Combat is simpler than it should be but still feels good to play. Music might be one of the best in the series right along VI and VIII. If you managed to get through XIII and XV you'll survive this.
