Just be honest, and say the reason politics are in gundam and /m/ is to save on animation budget. Modern audiences don't care about the super complex inner working of government. Nothing quicker kills a show for zoomies like me, than pausing to discuss.
Unicorn is un-fucking watchable because theres a cool gundam fight, and then like an hour of philosophy. You don't need much to say "war is bad." You don't need 3 entire fake governments to have a compelling story. Anyways, the focus on politics completely killed the appeal of shows like g-witch and is what drives companies and viewers away from /m/. Thank god studio khara agrees with me, by offloading all of that onto chalia and kycillia, because focusing on machu made the show so much better
