I thought it was meh. I did really like Shouma and his struggles with telling the uncle the truth, but the President stuff was weak as always. I thought it was weird that Rakia got his ass kicked once and just sat this episode out, and as always I find the President just pretty uninteresting compared to Stomachsha and Shouma's siblings. It's a way less personal story with a more generic goal and the President himself isn't that interesting of a character. It doesn't help that Rango is still running around doing literally nothing. But I did get somewhat emotional with the uncle, and I think giving Shouma to bear the burden of actually having to admit such a horrible truth one day (even if that day is later) is a fun thing for the formerly liar character to have to do.

This scene reminded me (obviously it's been months since they aired together) but I've never seen art of Komugi and Shouma having fun drinking melon/cream soda together and I think that's a terrible shame.

I really liked that they didn't take the obvious route of running Hanto's situation 1:1 parallel to the uncle. The latter's just a regular old civilian dude. Truth or not, the amount of trauma dumping Shouma would have to do to explain the full story would probably overload an average human already suffering from the loss of a loved one

Makes me think this is all epilogue set-up, where Shouma will eventually leave his job at Sachika's and stay with his uncle to work at the candy shop. All of the truth reveal will likely be done off-screen in a time-skip or side novel before a V-cinema occurs (where the raping and other dark themes are allowed to be mentioned).

There is not gonna be any follow-up to this, is there?

I know Bocca is apparently the main antagonist, and the series made a point of the granites having their familiars.
But fuck, is both hilarious and sad in a way to know Bocca generic familiars are apparently -according him- at the same level than Lango.

It's a core issue for the boy - being accepted for who he is. He's opened up to Hanto and Sachika because he felt they could take it and that they deserved the truth. He wants more than anything to protect their smiles and unlike them, opening up to candy uncle requires opening up old wounds and Shouma himself must have fears of being rejected as the bastard spawn of the monster that took her. Things worked out for him and Hanto eventually but it was dangerously close to breaking at points. Just because it worked out once doesn't mean it'll work out again and the alternative might let them both have more peace even if it means no closure.

I do hope that they are saving it for the finale in a short and sweet way. I'd go with after the battle being way over, we get a distant shot of them talking and reacting without us hearing what they actually say that ends in a hug and a fade out to Shouma coming home to the work place where the gang are waiting for him for the final shot of him with his friends having their little tea party.

He was never a villain in the show itself, he did sketchy things in the Vail miniseries for which he tried to atone, but he did them thinking he was helping people and contributing to the greater good. Although you could count his shady past as justification for his death the same as Dente. Though he wasn't killed, he just died from his longtime injuries and illness, similar to the Takoyaki lady from Ghost.

It wasn't the original Tassel, it was an evil version from an alternate world that also ended up dying. Luna died as well.

That's not their work uniform though, Nyelv isn't even supposed to go out of the Granute World. Also most of their meetings took in place in their mansion's dining table

They aren't, Nyelv's ability is poison, Lango is his royal guard and Glotta is her counter, the summoning minions thing seems to be something completely different from the main Granute abilities and we know that not all the nobles have this ability due to Magento.

We don't really know if Magen was unable to summon minions since he got modified with a Bitter Gavv shortly after his introduction. We haven't seen Jeebh generating minions after his surgery either.
