This is the same level of stupid as saying that the Strike loses its main source of mobility when it doesn't have a backpack on. It's literally integrated onto the suit, one of the Astrays features is the backpack itself moving out of the way to mount other shit and STILL having it on.

While the events on the series are canon to Astray, it's not the same the other way around. Fukuda doesn't consider Astray to be part of the story he was telling in any regard.
