Why Bandai haven't done anything with this series like a new instalment or even remastered?

Shin-Gihren was released barebones and Bandai tried to nickel and dime people with DLC and effectively killed the series because of it.

Because the last game they released sucked and was a DLC fuckfest.
Gihren's Greed was niche to begin with, very niche honestly it didn't sell nearly as well as action Gundam games or more standard tactical G Gen or SRW.
A series that niche with one flop is enough for them to not want to risk again.
I am surprised it's not on JPN digital storefronts though.

It is too bad. I love SRW and G Gens but I feel like the ceiling of Gihrens is SO much higher, especially if all the common sense QoL improvements and modernization of the last 15 years caught up to it (doubly so if it were a PC-first game). I enjoyed the time I spent on the semi-translated one a few years ago but goddamn is it dated

Gihren's greed is a reskinned Nobunaga's Ambition which itself is niche. I'm surprised they localized a game or two from that series at all.

the effort that went into a "what if" series hasn't had this kinda depth found in any other major franchise (maybe Marvel comics).
that's what made the games so unique; there's not a lot of anime where you get to see characters like Ramba Ral come back to life because of a few good decisions you make and then you get to see history play out differently and how they showered him with better ace units from alt futures.

same goes for Mobile Suit Gundam Online which was a Jap only game that was way fun and would've been huge if marketed as Battlefield w/giant robots outside of JP.

plus the other obvious problem with Gihren games is that it makes the over UC story solvable: if X just wins, then all the problems of war and giant robots are solved.

Niche, but also a long runner.
Koei has been riding Nobunaga's Ambition and Rot3K for a looooooong time.
What's baffling is that despite how niche those games can be, the SNES releases of the respective franchises can be found in the SNES NSO app on the Switch.
I wouldn't recommend touching old Koei historical simulation games unless you're ok with slow plodding games though, they're a hell of an acquired taste.

No? Conflict still continues even if Zeon wins.
Even if Casval Zeon wins the OYW, its not the end.
The only times they have solvable problems is things like: Don't let the Albion go after Gato, let Cima do it (win)
Don't stifle Ramba Ral for no reason and send him Doms: White Base captured.
But neither wins the war.

It's really unfortunate because I feel like making something on par with this couldn't possibly be very expensive these days. Add in even more side stories with more characters and suits, actually give other factions some damn events to go through and please some late UC because I want to see how the fuck a Zeon of any kind would handle Cosmo Babylonia and Zanscare. Imagine the hypothetical miniaturized Zeon suits...
