This is a weird one. Near as I know the manga came first or it was some multi media situation. In any case the anime basically became the primary focus where the heroes in it are the clones of the manga originals who proceed to do fuck all and suck.

It has a lance and funnels in the wings. No idea if the wings can also rotate and act as a railgun like F91. The gundum has only appeared in an hangar for now.

I'm a sucker for cannons like that, so far I'm liking the overall look of it. The yellow shoulder radiators remind me of thruster vents\outlets from some other MS designs in the 2010s I think. Guess we'll have to wait and see for more info.

It's a really slow manga and I think getting cut short really hurt it in that regard, because I have a feeling things would have ended up pretty different - the author does basically say that how it relates to the anime never gets explained, and there's one or two things that lead me to believe the events of the manga would have been more important than shutting down the gate.
I do still think the anime's better but I think I prefer the cast in the manga (been a while since I watched it though), they get up to some fun stuff and the results of genetic engineering are way more concrete and you get some cool stuff from that too. The mecha that actually don't get rushed out are cooler too, unfortunately that's maybe two of them.

Getter Robo Darkness is a notable example, ending after just a handful of volumes with a very large chunk of those devoted to flashback arcs for its versions of Hayato and Musashi(ending right after the latter in fact) but never getting around to covering Ryoma's backstory, and obviously no real ending, just getting a "and the adventure continues" non-ending

definitely sticks out as being odd when compared to the other two major non-Ishikawa Getter manga; Hien: The Earth Suicide and Devolution which both managed to reach proper conclusions
