Yo this second half is brutally mid. Im 37 eps in and i don't know how to describe my hang ups. Like first half it was " okay they kinda suck know experience but these guys are pulling miracles with Improvising and adapt, then the China front starts and all that shits justs tossed out the window, and then they do nothing but job, jobbing on some shit theirselves from the first half of the show wouldve never jobbed to. The only time their jobbing was justified was the elite team with the Caulking gun. It's still a good watch so far and everything regarding Meio was kino, can't wait for more of him. I just wanted to know if was the only once who got that same feeling.

From what I remember the recolors from the arc with the Hokuto no Ken looking gang are somehow supposed to be way higher spec than the stuff earlier in the show, even though they just look like a coat of paint.

They are customs that much true but im refering to them losing to them on tactics more than anything, like they had far more team work in the first half than they do now second half. Probably because now they are trying push Kaine and D1 as the MC in these's fights, but it doesnt work because the D1-3 are designed to worked as a team so having the other 2 just be full on back up cramps their style, And if you want to talk about specs don't even get me started on how trash the Mp Dragoons are. Imagine spending the first half of the show hyping up how crucial it it mp the dragonars, do it and then state they have specs even higher than the 3 prototypes, and then show them getting bodied left and right, almost everytime they are on screen.

There's this weird ESL kid who is openly antagonistic on almost every thread here within the first few replies. I don't like Dragonar so I don't have anything to contribute, but a heads up on that dude.

I liked it quite a lot until the trio got split up by Kaine being blackmailed, essentially killing the main gimmick of the series. And the show ends before they even really fight together again.
I still don't understand how the giant space fortress essentially getting psycommu somehow made it teleport.
I understand it increasing a mobility and agility of a machine, but they make it clear the fortress is literally teleporting.

The trio fall off late in the show. Meio basically takes over as main character. All the romance goes nowhere and the final battle is underwhelming. The show felt like it was building up to something big and then just says all the enemies on Earth were defeated off screen.

Lamo the second half is when the series finally rises above average. This goes for both the 3rd and 4th quarters of the series.

If i had to guess for an logical answer, it's all electronic warfare, jammers and radar scramblers things like that. So what they thing is teleporting isnt actually teleporting, it's just the targeting systems not being able to confirm it's exact location. Like you said though they made it vety clear that it was teleporting, and i feel like who ever was in charge of the second half's writing overlooked alot of what was established with the show's setting be come off as more cool and exciting or something to that degree.

Its the one thing holding the show together at the end it works. It works because the man is just so based. I will say this about dragonar if it's one they they did better than gundam (in regards to just 0079) it's how they handled the "Char". Where as Char would be side tracked about beating Amuro in the middle of his goal of eliminating the Zabis, Meio is so focused on avenging the Chancellor, he gives no further fucks about any petty grudges and shits je had prior. Dude just 1v1 the mcguffin battle forts accomplishes and even more successful frontal assault than the whole federations fleet, and the whole time telling Kaine to fuck off, he has no time for him, he's that focused. If Obari someone scores that Dragonar remake, i would be all in it just for Meio. This dude my guy.

After finishing it a can say that you are wrong on the 3rd quarter, it still feels like a downgrade in a lot of areas aside from the things like ensuring the villians aren't just complete pushovers, and then even get some decent characterizing moments and their deaths arent just treated as disposables. Last quarter was alot better though. They still drop the squad gimmick and just feels like they are just ramping up stakes for the sake of ramping up stakes, but watching the Giganos empire die in real time became was big sell on that arc, i wish hadnt spend so much on Gun Jem's gang and more of Dorchenov running the empire into the ground more. The final battle was kinda weak, could have introduced a new machine for that really, but the last scenes after the fight were pretty good.

The jobbing was kinda pain to get through not gonna lie. As far as the writing goes, all of the good writing went to Meio's story later on when the Grand Marshal dies, then the writing starts to get better again when they start making progress on Gun Jem.

No it's just enough brain power plus a machine's computer allows it to move fast. That's exactly what the Gilgazamunes were doing but it required a very strong pilot like Gon Jem or just letting a normal person take a break every five minutes.

"Moving really fast" fortress was a retarded gimmick to give it and it doesnt even last after they get cooked by the microwave beam. Of course this is a show from the 80s so it's pretty silly of us to be putting more thought and logic into the practicality and physics into it.
