>>23434784 (OP)I've still got a Gundam AU I've had kicking around in my head for years and I develop a little bit internally every once in a while. The basic premise was an Earth-obsessed cult called Gaiabound attaining control of the Earth-based government and through false-flag operations sparked a rebellion in the space colonies, all to eradicate them and force all human life to return to and permanently stay on Earth in their belief that human souls are born from and must remain tied to the planet.
One of the survivors of this war, Kuzey Ferris, accidentally discovered the truth at the time as just a young boy, and along with the few friends on his colony that survived swore they'd get vengeance. He grew up into a lone assassin trying to eradicate the cult's leadership while his friends went their separate ways - one become a billionaire Zaibatsu head secretly funding a new rebellion among former Spacenoids with the aid of a mysterious masked pilot, one joined the crew of the ship who saved their lives, and whose captain is trying to expose the cult's corruption, and another became an ace pilot in the Earth forces' ranks to try and spark change from within.
Kuzey gets recruited by a woman named Melissa, running a terrorist cell called Newtype, with the goal of destroying Gaiabound, and helps him steal one of 13 experimental new Mobile Suits called Gundams - a skirmisher type dubbed the Yeoman suited to his style. But things change when Kuzey finds a young girl living alone out in a ruined colony with strange telepathic abilities, and he's forced to care for her as the war ramps up. He soon begins to suspect Melissa is like him, consumed by revenge and is after the destruction of the Earth itself.
I could easily write thirty more posts outlining all the characters, MS, and subplots, but the basic gist from there is Kuzey weighing his own hatred and need for closure versus the well-being of this child, and what she represents.
