I used to dev a popular HoI4 mod and I lost count of the amount of times some trannies or far-leftists would end up joining the dev team and proceed to do nothing but seethe about stuff in the mod and demand it be removed, and every time the head devs just caved in because they couldn't be bothered with the hassle. This often resulted in the devs who originally added said stuff to leave in protest, and then the ones who seethed about it to begin with end up leaving too.

Just finished a Bronzehill run after its rework. It's pretty good. The shorter focus tree times make it a lot smoother to play. Probably better for MP as well. The communist route is has kind of crazy stuff since they are also monarchists. It's cool to see commie paths that feel different then normal.

I like it. Has some good conquest, coring and story events that don't intrude with gameplay. The kind of thing I generally like.

if you're really struggling with the Great War then you could try doing the Luna civil war first, its much easier and allows you to go to War Economy and remove all your debuffs years before Chrysallis invades so you can build up enough to just steamroll her as soon as the year starts

If that's true that's a shame. I think having more groups in Zebrica is fun. Gryphon colonies are no more evil than Hellquill. If they actually had content they could be fun, either a harsh Zebra Apartheid path or a harmonist run where you integrate them into a more modern state. For midgame fun you could have to deal with Zebra Mugabe or Zebra Mandela. (Which would be a totalitarian or alt harmonist respectively.) Also Roam should have a path too, against Coltage ultimately obviously, but building up in the region first.
