Fun fact: Most of the stupid shit infants and toddlers do are because they have only a rudimentary concept of how to please others. Whenever a child in that age group is being dumb, it's because they're trying to make you happy.

Babies donโ€™t make me happy.
Babies are very crappy.
Nothing causes me more scorn
Than seeing a shitty baby born.
I hate the way they laugh.
I hate the way they smile.
Their existence is a gaffe.
I find it very vile.
Pinkie was right to stab them dead.
Pinkie was good for bashing their head.
Pony babies make me sick.
Pony babies suck my dick.
I hate the way they look.
I hate the way they sound.
I hate the Cake Twins,
Both Pumpkin and Pound.

I still dislike those soulless eyes even after all these years. Why couldn't they give them eyes like that abomination Flurry got? Even that fucking non-sentient giraffe got better eyes. I also don't like the tired baby-chaos trope they usually do in cartoons. It's not that bad in real life.

No, I get the hypothesis. It's good, internally consistent and whatsnot. The question is how it was verified. It's not like you can ask a toddler why her did something, right? And even if you could, his self-assessment is hardly reliable.

Much like real children they're born without a soul, only gaining one when they get older. Flurry was an exception, because she has demigod blood in her veins.

Anecdotes are fine. Trust isn't. From what little I remember from when I was 5, I lied to myself all the time. It can be partially explained by my general compulsion to lying that's still here, but the point is, kids are neither insightful not trustworthy. In your style,
>If I did something and I don't know why I did it, I can always say it was done to make somebody like me, and nobody including myself will question it

I wouldn't say suddenly, it's been popular in the 4chansphere for almost a decade now. Like a lot of memes, it stems from contrarian anons trying to distance themselves from reddit.
Pseud, midwit, hylic, etc. are just different ways to signal that you're scientifically knowledgeable, but also "grounded" and spiritual. It stands in contrast to the reddit mindset of pure IFLS materialism, sometimes redditors reject anecdotal evidence as an extension of that.
