It's About Time and Lesson Zero are both episodes about how Twilight is an anxious obsessive who can drive herself crazy over absolutely nothing. Which one's better at getting this point across? Was it redundant to have two of them in the same season?

It's About Time is cool because time travel is cool.

I didn't read the rest of the post.

Remember there’s less than a one year in-show time between Twilight having a complete mental breakdown and being made princess

it's kinda weird how it was supposed to be a silly metal gear reference but then big boss got a horn and scars later in the games

These episodes show that twilight has an issue with sliding threads.

Lesson Zero has a better plot but It's About Time is a better portrayal of her character.

Lesson Zero is funnier, has a better plot, and is also relevant to the entire show, as it marks the point where anyone, not just Twilight, can write to Princess Celestia.
Which is great because while in S1 it was somewhat understandable given that Twilight was the newbie to the friendship thing, forcing her to appear in every episode would be cringe in the long run.
The bad thing? I feel like the writers who came in later seasons borrowed too much from this episode to define Twilight's personality, and not her silly, sweet moments from S1

It's About Time is fun, but I feel like there's nothing real going on (yeah, that's ironic to say about this episode, lol).
I see it more as the S2 version of Feeling Pinkie Keen.
>the Twi-Pinkie dynamic where one is desperately serious about something and the other acts casual
>lesson is not to take things so seriously; sometimes things just happen
That, and surely the idea of the whole time travel thing being just the hysteria of one character would have seemed particularly funny to the writers.

You fucking gen-zers still think these episodes are good and didn't mark the end of the show? jesus christ no wonder you're so easy to manipulate
>oh yeah then why didn't you manipulate me?
because I refuse to be a jew.

It's about time. She seems more grounded in this one. During lesson zero she's a bit ooc

>Lesson Zero is funnier
Name one funny thing in the episode, other than the memefaces and "hi girls".

it's not like the princesses themselves don't have breakdowns too
hell, the whole Nightmare Moon thing is basically just an Ultra mental breakdown
