I LOVE GIRAFFES OKAY, LET ME GET THIS OUT OF THE WAY FIRST.
Clementine deserved a voice, she was sentient but she probably spoke in such a strong accent different from equines (possibly similar to kirin), that nobody bothered to give it to her, plus the lack of airtime ruined her chances all together. I wish the fandom gave her the spotlight, she deserves it as a background character.

>>42296230 (OP)What would giraffe culture be like? Would it be similar to zebra culture? Would they have their own complete culture, different from the zebras? Does their culture involve tricking stupid ponies to give them free Healthcare?
>>42298258Sheep and cows in MLP can talk, but that doesn't stop ponies from keeping them as farm animals.
>>42299323>We have doctors, dentists, surgeons, and the like. It doesnโt make us pets.I never said that, I just showed you a pic of a cute mare taking care of Clementine. If I were in her place, as long as I have cute ponies taking care of me for free, I wouldn't mind being treated as a pet too.
>>42299750Except we have yet to see this as an absolute truth. We have probably seen a grand total of one sheep, one dairy cow, and one herd of buffalo actually talk, so Iโm unsure about the rest of them all. In addition, if youโd like to assume the movie is canon, we have also seen Captain Celaeno and Capper Dapperpaws talk, while Philomena only speaks in roars and Opal only speaks in meows and hisses, so there are inconsistencies even between the same kind of animal.
>>42299799So youโd take the attitude of โhumans can talk, but donโt because theyโd have to pay taxesโ?

Capper is more like G1's cat witch Catrina, though I don't know if it was ever confirmed that they are the same species.
>sapient
>sentient
Throw these words out the window. Animals in the show can be these things because it's a cartoon and MLP's fantasy world has shown intelligence in creatures like Owlicious or Cows.
I think what everyone is REALLY asking is if Giraffes have societies. We see pony society. We can assume from Zecora that zebras have societies that at least include living in homes (built or something like Zecora's tree hut we will never truly know).
Do giraffes have societies where they live in homes? Farm or hunt and gather? Pastoral societies? Or do they live like cows as wild peoples?
>>42299816Woah, this must be why Clementine had no lines in the show. She's earning a mint living tax free. Maybe this is also why she's living with the other animals, she has it pretty chill at the sanctuary and therefore also doesn't have to pay rent.

My sweet Clementine!
I found someone's Clementine callout post on Youtube
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOoN9ObHhak
>>42301976I can tell you that giraffes in real life form groups, so a society (also called a tower) would totally make sense, possibly somewhere near zebras, as they share the habitat.
>>42302059Wait if a group of giraffes is called tower then what do we call an actual tower of giraffes?
>>42302059>Giraffe group = TowerThat's a really fun fact. Committing that to memory for sure.
>possibly somewhere near zebras, as they share the habitatIn our world it reflects that, sure. But that wouldn't necessarily correlate to the planet containing Equestria. For all we know the civilizations of both Giraffe and Zebra could be entirely separate geographically, maybe even ecologically. The fact only part of the world has been revealed through canonical maps can still support a LOT of diversity as far as organisms and disconnected societies go.
>>42302091Observation tower? Skyscraper? Tower stack?
dear 4chan, i wish for more mlp giraffe art, long mares are my forte (also if you giraff-ify any non giraffe characters, also great, celestia needs a 2nd horn with that long neck of hers)

>>42296298 gets it.
baka
>>42302552She would make for a lovely raff
>>42302878Very cute sun raff.
>>42302260Hmmm, we've seen in-show equivalents to our real world.
Mistmane is East Asian equivalent. Saffron Masala and her dad are South Asian equivalents. Zebras are Subsaharan African equivalent, and are said to be from a faraway land but we don't know if that means different continent or just far away. There is Somnambula which is like an Egyptian, and the area is known as Southern Equestria. Saddle Arabians also exist. Most of these seem like they are part of Equestria, with maybe Zebras being further off. But Yaks live north of the Crystal Empire, so maybe Zebras are closer than I assume.
I know there has been several maps, and even the friendship map, but I haven't taken a close look at those.
Who knows, maybe giraffes are in some unspecified place because the writers thought they were too different from equids.
>>42302016Except it isnโt like I or anyone I know would dress himself up as a gorilla and try living for free at a zoological institute. Imagine the other animals and their comparably primitive behaviors.

>>42304512Who says her stature means anything?
>>42303746Both princesses indeed make excellent giraffes. As for magical ossicones, add that to the list of traditional artist exclusivity and ease of adding, because most AI have little to no freakin' clue what ossicones are by word, or what you're asking when you want to affect them. They just know that giraffes have that shape on their head but not what it is - 'horn' doesn't affect it nor 'antlers'.
>>42304250She's cute! Guess she's like the Zecora of G1, where she's the only of her species that's ever seen throughout the show. Her "mark" being a body wide pattern is an amazing concept and I could just imagine how other giraffes might've looked with their own unique prints. Kind wish they had made Clementine's ossicones fluffier in the show. Generally the males are the ones with bald nubby ones due to necking behaviour. Her rounded non-fluff ones makes her seem like she's actually a male, or evidence that she gets into fights with other giraffes.
>>42316788I've only ever seen nubby ossicones and ones with hair look dumb.

Wouldn't likely be enough to affect the split due to differences in environmental factors and long-term isolation.
