So, silver spoon and diamond tiarra are basically cozy glow.
The cmc are a secondary main group. They are the m6, except children, in terms of what role they play in the story. They don't really have a "twilight" character, who leads them and calls them to adventure. If the cmc did have a leader who they willingly circled around, it would be applebloom, who they suddenly defended in "call of the cutie" just like the m5 suddenly followed twilight in the first episodes.
The cmc are in a directly oppositional relationship with diamond/spoon. Originally, twilight is acting in direct opposition to both celestia and luna, or at least resistance. The sisters are white and blue, while the fillies are pink and grey, which is enough to suggest a pattern. Luna is basically mad because she's considered secondary and is less popular than celestia. Silver spoon, time and again, shifts her opinions in order to be deferential to diamond, and takes on the task of organizing/managing the other foals, basically bossing them around. In the last episode featuring silver spoon, she is chastised for wielding her privilege and information in a way that was inconsiderate to diamond, and she immediately abandoned diamond. Luna/silver abandoned celestia/diamond because she frustrated her great lust for the praise of common ponies. Eventually, diamond and luna are both reformed, though silver disappears and celestia just turns out to have been good all along.
So, twilight has a relationship with the sisters.
The cmc have a relationship with the brats.
These relationships are comparable.
By the time cozy glow appears, the brats have already been "solved" and the sisters have long been at peace.
Antagonists tend to come in pairs, and be foils for twilight.
Glimmer is like a lunar sunset shimmer, and both are unicorn reflections of who twilight could have been in other circumstances.
Chrystalis came packaged with cadence. Cadence, being like celestia, turned out to have been good all along, while chrysalis was black, and manipulative, and hungry, and so rather lunar.
Trixie is a very direct, and mundane lunar foil for twilight, but doesn't come with a solar match. The best match is sunburst, who is like twilight if she was allowed to self-isolate.
Moondancer, being whitish-yellow, red, and purple, is not really warm-colored or cool-colored. She also doesn't really fall on either the lunar or the solar side of this dichotomy I'm using. She's the most perfect and direct twilight foil, with the only real difference being that she wasn't chosen for greatness and forced by her queen to make friends, and was a real downer about it. you can argue she's lunar, if you want.
