A pokemon mystery dungeon style game seems most fitting. Story kind of takes a back seat to more fleshed out and heart felt character interactions. You take a personality test to decide what race you are, including dragons griffons and etcetera. You build up a veritable army of friends, while you take on the forces of evil, including but not limited to, the creatures of the everfree, the spawn of tirek, a variety of different classes of the changeling army, pinky pie clones gone mad, THE SCHMOOZE, and many many more. unveiling an over arching plot along the way, you take care of ponyville and watch it grow, doing any manner of task from getting a cat out of a tree, finding a foal who got lost in the everfree, driving off windigos from canterlot, killing human gods that have encroached on equestria, all using the power of FRIENDSHIP.
Shit would be so cash, also would be turn based but more ff7 style so less bland.

My friend, that is psychotic...I like it. The story would go absolutely crazy. Equestria completely wartorn, reduced to a frozen tundra, canterlot a pile of rubble at the base of the cliff, mountains peak blown off by unknown means. Instead of orbital lazers, STALKER zone style spells randomly going off from a long forgotten war, some can burn, freeze, or electrocute, some just instantly kill by turning you inside out. Inside of robots called skeletons, how about golems made from reconstituted horn and bone? With actuals souls being used to power them? This could go pretty hard. Think fallout equestria I guess but more its own entity since kenshin is already pretty far away from our usual world.

A mix between Animal Crossing and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon would be just about perfect in terms of gameplay. Have a lighthearted story where excursions allow you to find potential new villagers or get exclusive furniture/decorations or better tools for townskeeping. It definitely should have a competent character editor that allows you to have a good degree of customization, from tribe to colors to potentially a cutiemark editor. Think about it: you'd have a huge open world to explore, with Equestrian landscapes, monsters, mythological creatures, etc. You'd be able to travel as a pony or party of ponies across vast lands, having adventures and stuff, collecting loot and grinding your adventuring skills, visiting towns populated with a bunch of pony NPCs making it feel alive. And you have an endless amount of background ponies that can be unlockable characters.

Gacha is just the most convenient monicker for this type of game. I don't necessarily care about randomly pulling characters, but there isn't really any other genre (that I'm aware of) that specifically focuses on both long-form grinding and character collection.
The only genre that comes close grinding-wise is MMORPGs, but it lacks the character collection aspect and it doesn't necessarily have to be an MMO (though it could be). I also kinda want a phone game with regular dailies, that kind of grinding, not a "spend 6 hours a day no-lifing raids" kind of grinding.

As far as I'm aware, there are gachas which are f2p-balanced and focus on exploration and gameplay. It doesn't have to be a skinner box of pure waifu gambling. But if you have a better word to describe "a mobile long-form resource and character collection game that's basically just like a non-p2w high quality gacha, but not necessarily actually a gacha, just similar to gachas in every other respect" do tell.

Only two wishes I have (I am less than a novice I literally do not know anything) are more variation in the head jitter speeds across the anim (don't be afraid to go /fast/) and the walk cycle feels floaty without the body's weight compressing the leg joints each step. Pelvis feels anchored. I have heard that's the hardest part of walk cycles.

"Talent" is a somebody else's skill you don't want to appreciate. You tell someone that they have "talent" when you want to disregard all the hours they spend on doodling garbage and improving their skills.

If everypony had such mindset, we would have absolutely nothing, no ponies, no houses, no games, no music. Those who create stuff, HAVE to create something that sucks before they are able to create something good. You need to spend time on purposeful practice before you get your "talent". And you need to be aware that it is not a quick "do it for 2 hours for a single week and you are already at the level of the masters of the craft". No, you need to be aware of scales of time, the pros that REALLY good at stuff spend 1000~10000 hours practicing. And not just brain-dead "repeat exactly the same thing over and over again", but instead always putting themselves into the situation where they are at the edge of their current abilities. Always somewhere between "moderately hard but very doable, I can successfuly do it 95% of time" and "incredibly hard and one(just one) step beyond my current abilities, I successfully do it 33% of time".
Of course, that also means you have to honestly acknowledge the EXACT extend of your current abilities, even if it stings and makes you feel stupid and you would rather hide behind nebulous phrases like "I have no talent". You don't learn skills if you avoid anything that lampshades your current lack of them. You have to accept the feeling of being dump and admit to yourself the EXACT skills you are lacking, including not knowing what even the first skill you should be learning. And you have to accept the fact that there is 1000~10000 hours gap between you and the pros, that the pros did not get their skills for free. And you also have to stop viewing leveling up your skills as some sort of punishment, you are not at school when you do stuff for yourself. Only then you can make a truly first step of your journey as the Creator of the stuff YOU want to create.
