Pestil anon here. It's been quite a long time since I've done a lora but I've finally got a usable training workflow for Illustrious and NoobAI based models. After many failed model attempts, including an Anontheanon lora I want to go back to eventually. As a proof of concept I've done a Thebatfang style lora.
The activation tag is `thebatfang` I'd recommend a strength of 0.8-1.0. Due to the training data I used it tends to over fit thighhighs at 1.0 so just be aware of that.

Wow, didn't expect to see my Izzy as OP, thanks AI Chads! Anyway, hello again, haven't been here in a while cause got sick. But still tried to experiment with different camera angles with various results. Certain loras combinations finally gave me extreme wide angle consistently but with way too many errors, so I decided to get the effect with just one lora first and different tags, quite unsuccessful for now. Anyway I have a question. Is it a common issue when upscaling breaks the gen? (I'm using default online CivitAI upscaler). I mean it tends to break certain parts of the background. Sometimes high-res fix helps, but sometimes it creates even more issues, like this weird anatomy problem with Luna's left wing and warped white dandelions (I'm not claiming it's a good gen, just posting as example and well for bump).

I trained it specifically on Noob 1.1. However I tried it on both YiffyMix and Zoinks and both merges are really aggressive with their styling and tend to overwrite the lora style most of the time. So your mileage may vary.

I could definitely give it a go. I still have all the training data. I'll be frank and say the Pestil lora for pony was a complete accident and the fact it came out as good as it did was a fluke since I didn't have a single clue what I was doing and was tagging everything by hand since a tagger trained on e621 didn't exist at the time.

I've said exposed this guy several times, he's everywhere. Crawling across /mlp/, seeping into Discord, Telegram, OPs, replies, X, Patachu's art is a plague worse than Tamers or Cbtwi, and anons are too blind to see it. They repost it like puppets, spreading his subtle foalcon, mlpol or symbolics without noticing. Nobody knows Patachu, DarkDoomer, Bestfilly, or whatever alias he's hiding behind, and this is just the emerging part of the iceberg. He's not random. He's not some drawfag begging for (you)s or the same kind of attention artists carve for. He's a (((puppeteer))) weaving his memes into the board's soul like a subliminal virus. This isn't about fame, It's about control. He's constantly testing what will get the most attention.
Every pattern are screaming if you dare to look, and not assume it's just coincidence. His art isn't just spammed, it's strategically placed, targeted in OPs, in replies, hijacking every thread, not just the AI art thread. Why? Because memes are power to him. Control the memes, control the narrative. Patachu's no mere shitposter. He's a calculated schizo, a parasite who thrives on burning his OCs into your brain. Every repost is a triumph for him. Every derailed thread even those exposing him is making him laugh. He's not even hiding it, he don't even need to post on the board or places he's banned from, he knows someone will unwillingly see a pic from him, a screencap, a meme and repost it.
The aliases he goes with are a part of the game of hide and seek, he's not hiding to escape, he's hiding to make you hunt him, so you fall in his trap, to make you obsess. To put his signature in every corner of the fandom. His art creeps in when a thread's dying for content or when drama's boiling over, shows up on every community project where no one asked, into collabs, even in AI generated art I can see gens that makes me twitch, many models have obviously been trained on his art. That's not coincidence, it's by design. He's watching, waiting, dropping his trash at the exact moment it sticks even by proxy. He's now prioritizing quantity over quality, not a single day without seeing people reposting his art. Derpibooru and EQD didn't ban him for the far-right shitposter he is, they banned him because they saw through his mask. They knew he's not just an artist. but a predator, feeding on the board's chaos, twisting subconscious. This isn't about clout anymore, you'll never see Patachu in a con or a meetup. Every time you scroll past his art, every time you wince at those, or reply or save it to a repost, he's winning. He's trained you to notice him without knowing his name. When you don't care, reposting his work, you're spreading his influence like a virus, that's what he wants and that's what he's been doing for years, and people ignored it for too long.

How is "high-res fix" different from just running the upscaler manually? I was under the impression it's essentially the same, just automated.

Oh they're quite similar but there's tiny difference. High-res fix on Civitai not only upscales the image but either fixes some broken parts of the gen (mostly background) or adds more texture/details (like it seriously changed the texture of Luna's mane), at least that what I can tell from my limited experience. Upscaler well, upscales the image. At best. At worst it loves to ruin certain elements, especially flowers. But from other side there's always a chance that high-res fix might turn gen into a body horror mutant fun aka generate faces all across the character while removing the actual face. That happened several times for me already. So yeah, they're kinda different.

Here's my version.

I retrained my Pestil data with NoobAI and the results are mixed. I think due to Illustrious and Noob having a lot less pony data compared to Ponyv6 the fact that my training data was mostly his human artwork; the ability for it to do pony has been gimped since it can't lean on stock Ponyv6 anymore. It can still do Pestil styled ponies it just takes a lot more work. It still does humanized well though.
Activation tag is `pestil` and use a strength of 1.0. I think I might completely redo the dataset at a later date, add a lot more pony images and then tag the pony and human images separately.

Remember that in v4.5 you don't need as high a prompt guidance rescale to get as good results now. High values do de-saturate everything quite a bit.

Also, the furry version of v4.5 full does have more pony bias and knowledge in its dataset along with more pony related tags, so try switching to that by clicking the little symbol next to "prompt". It's still the version where most pony data had been merged into.

I tried to replicate one prompt I lost, it had such interesting "long" style that reminded me of the illustrations I saw back in the days but I overdone it accidentally. But at least now I know what exactly causes this effect, after burning down all my buzz over and over again for days. Anyway, I have some questions, if that's okay. What is the best/most optimal sampler? (I'm using online generator on Civitai). I tend to use Euler/Euler a. I tried DPM++ 2M Karras and it's kinda situational for me - sometimes I get great results, sometimes well... Not so much. It was less consistent than Euler but idk I might be doing something wrong. Oh and what about Steps? I use either 28 or, in some cases, 40. Is there any point in using more than that?

Hello again AI Chads. I kept experimenting with Samplers and Steps on my own and I must say I was very wrong about DPM++ 2M Karras. In certain cases it's a pure wonder, but goodness it's sensitive to the amount of steps, like in all my prompts it didn't like anything above 25. And Euler/Euler a hated 40 steps so much. 38 was the last stable point, although quite an overkill, 28 usually was more than enough (even 20-25). Moreover, now I know from my own experience why is better to leave negative prompt empty for PDXL - I noticed that my "bare minimum" negative prompt still affected the style quite a lot. Huh. In any case, despite burning down all my both from couple accounts (no I don't leave likes under my own gens, I don't need such "attention"), I think it was pretty much worth it.

Newer AI detectors flag the more subtle tells SDXL models leave, like tiny differences in color between different areas instead of the exact same one, subtle noise artifacts and aliasing errors.
