I'm drunk and going through old drives and found my old pony music folder and I'm feeling nostalgic and sad so I came here
I haven't been into ponies for a decade at this point and I just miss that time when everything was better
Is there still a pony music scene? What do bronies listen to now? I just want to feel happy and listen to shitty fan music again

I dig a lot of her stuff, but at the same time haven't listened to a lot, discography too damn big (looking at you too mumble (who is also still around, along with koa) and lapfox/halley). queen of misfits, CUTIEMARKS, and aura are my fav albums of her's. spark and pest are banger songs too.

it's called separating the art from the artist, which is admittedly easier to do when you already like the art of said artist, but yeah the "if you say you dislike thing, you are probably bad person!!!" is definitely a shit take

also I'll stop replying now, I'm just derailing things. hope you find something you like anon and some new stuff you like too. don't be afraid to explore outside of what you know, artists like loophoof, soundbandit, vylet, algoatall, even tridashie are doing some cool new stuff in the scene. it's all a good time

it is kind of neat to go back to queen of misfits after listening to some of her more recent stuff and just feel the step up in production. not that it's bad on that album, far from it, but there just feels like there's a lot more there now. I need to listen to some earlier stuff to find out what it's like sometime.

Yeah there's still brony musicians. Not nearly as many. Most of the 'scene' revolves around a few big channels/compilations. I still find some new and obscure artists banging out tunes on YouTube and BandCamp, bless them. Fan art feels like much more serious business these days, everything has to be polished and as professional as possible. It's probably a good thing overall but I kinda miss the old days when people would make a pony song and even if it sucked it was fun because they were inspired.

Huh strange. The auto-generated stuff does get the upload dates wrong quite often. Looks like it was via TuneCore, and doing some research on that gives this: https://www.tunecore.com/guides/claim-your-youtube-official-artist-channel-today
While the OAC (official artist channel) is automatically generated, it is actually possible for artists to claim them.

That means there's a chance SGaP somehow came back to claim this channel, but I would not be surprised if it's someone else. For example, the SGaP tracks currently on Spotify are not from SGaP: https://www.reddit.com/r/SGaP/comments/j52532/the_spotify_sgap_listing_is_not_legitimate/
