I suggest drawing something on a page, taking a photo of it, and then removing the excess with a selection tool. On krita (a free drawing program) you can use the magic wand tool to remove the excess and then paste your pony onto the canvas. Just make sure the page you're drawing on is a solid color without any lines, because they can fuck up the selection process.
