I'm not saying it's dead or that it's a trash fandom.
It's just that those are nothing compared to the insipid shitpost, which seems to be the main focus.
I think we should focus more on producing content than consuming it.
And it sounds obvious, but an animation like Batsy's is content that we simply watch once or twice and then forget about.
The whole creative and challenging process of building said content is lost, and seeking to focus on that process was what always defined this fandom.
I feel like now it's just memes and porn (just for the sake of being porn, not for being something creative and cool like Banned from Equestria, which is what I meant earlier).

Unironically I think the sex havers and sex education is horrendously lacking just like the quality of porn games who attempt to do some shitty half-assed video game genre and then add porn on top of it as a theme on top of the shittily made gameplay ... instead of understanding that porn needs a new genre and specific genres; simulation, anatomy, sandbox, relaxing. I don't want to play a strategy game as a pimp paired with some very shitty visuals & audio and 0 interactivity.

It's basically the same problem as saying you want a brawler, boxing, fighting, hack n slash game and instead you get a turn-based combat JRPG or an action-RTS like DOTA/LOL game at best. Clearly the latter gameplay will never hold a candle to the first gameplay. That's the same problem with porn games, everyone avoids it.
Same with porn, everyone avoids creativity and understanding you cannot touch in a movie, you cannot smell, feel in a movie. You can only work with audio visual medium in a movie, the writing in a movie, but ironically games do allow you to interact so ironically porn games should be easier(not necessarilly) or at least have more potential than a porn movie.

They have the inventory system and are very great for exploration and puzzles, but if you want hack & slash with a ton of combos and punching bag enemies and Devil May Cry gameplay then you cannot get that out of a RPG that plays more or less like a detailed RTS. RPG & RTS have a lot in common but are 180 degrees from FPS & H&S. Most people ask for all genres/mechanics in 1. They want the H&S combat, FPS with the RPG & RTS mechanics, but that's just not possible engine wise or the designers/programmers we've had so far just aren't good enough. Deus Ex, Spellforce, Warframe, Firefall, Elder Scrolls, World of Warcraft, Grand Theft Auto just fail at being equally or superior good to a dedicated game taillormade for specific games. Same deal with porn & even horror games, there isn't 1 engine specifically made for those games and thus porn games always feel shallow since that's what they are. The most dedicated hentai games I've seen are just character builders and nothing else.

I think the only people who ask for an "everything" game are children. Most people just have genres they like and they stick to them. Like the people who play GTA aren't looking for GTA with immersive sim mechanics, they just want more GTA. Same with DMC, there really aren't that many games that are similar to it. Even games in the same genre have fundamental differences that completely change how they're played, like Bayonetta for example. I don't think it's a matter of avoiding creativity, people just make things they know others will like. In regards to porn games, most people are just looking for context as opposed to good gameplay. It's why the porn and gameplay is so separated. People don't want to have to do combos while they're trying to jerk off, which is why turn based gameplay is the default.

That excitement for the next horse episode gave way to apathy and dread. By season 8 most just wanted to end the show. And that was the ones who were so addicted to pony they stayed around. Look at the charts of /mlp/ activity. By '14 most were moving on. The only ones left are mareschizos who will never leave.
