Could work if it's a version of Equestria where ponies don't have strong sexual urges.

Heat is heat regardless of whether it comes from a stovetop heating element or microwaves.
It's ridiculous that people try to say you can taste the difference if you heat the water up differently.
As for it "not heating evenly" that's why you stir.
I heat water up in the microwave all the time for tea.
Put it in for a 90 seconds, take it out, stir for a second, put in the infuser. There is no scientific reason why using a kettle would change this process.

That's actually an interesting idea, not in the sense of "The gallivanting knight anon comes and saves the ponies with heir human ways", but more with the dynamic of a reformed villain that simply sits down and ask themselves "Now what
?" And the answer never comes.

Think of it, they spent the majority of their lives in this particular out of the ordinary lifestyle, and now they'll have to adapt to a more "normal" kind of living. Speed isn't the issue, dumbass. Microwaves cook unevenly, which applies to water as well. Ever had a TV dinner where one part was molten hot and the other still had ice crystals after being put in the microwave?

That inconsistency is why boiled water in a kettle or stovetop is better; the water is 100% the same temperature as opposed to whatever comes out of a microwave.
