Whenever there are /mlp/ events/streams on Cytube, EQG is usually not allowed (with the exception of the Anni), so maybe we can do an EQG-only stream if there's enough interest?
It'll still happen even if only 2 or 3 attend lol

When we did the Dazzlings stream, where every video was Dazzlings-related, we ended up with 8 and a half hours.
Yeah, we watched the movie and Sunset Backstage Pass, and the DWK video was certainly kind of long, but I think it helps you realize that there's stuff.
And it wasn't even meant to be that long; some videos were suggested and queued during the stream.
And I already have a playlist compiling videos we didn't see in that stream to do a second one (not that long, to be fair, but it's still content produced since that stream ended, some I hadn't discovered until now, and others I decided not to include in the first one to avoid going on too long or because I thought no one would be interested).

Well, so far many of you who took the poll voted to watch all the movies in a single stream, ensuring at least 4 hours and 50 minutes of official content.
But it's also true that a bit more than the majority voted for less than that, particularly just watching one + specials.

I've always found the astounding leap in quality from the first movie to the second movie fascinating. I can't think of any other form of entertainment that went from being so bad to so good in just one additional try.

Some people think there are worse specials than the first movie and others think there are better specials/movies than RR, but ultimately I find the first two films to be a great example of the two extremes you'll find in EqG. It's its worst film followed up immediately by its best film, and everything else that follows is somewhere in-between. If you like Equestria Girls (the first movie) you'll probably like the rest, and if you don't like Rainbow Rocks it's probably not for you in general. But the point being it's an interesting example of just being able to watch two films and know pretty much exactly where you stand in regards to your preference for EqG.

The main circumstance is that the anni stream is coming up soon and we all know how long it is, so there most likely won't be another EQG Stream (I'm still accepting suggestions for a name change) in october

I love long streams, and these 11 hours were great, but I think it would be good to cut it down to 6-7, and I'd even be willing to start an hour earlier if it would be convenient for some anons
And let's face it, there isn't as much eqg content as there is pony content, doing this once a week would be too much, and that's also why I don't want to "burn out" the official content so quickly.
Don't worry tho, I'm already creating future playlists and I have like 15+ hours of EQG content for future streams!
and it's not like we can't rewatch some videos, considering that some are just that good and that several anons couldn't see them due to timezones or because they missed the entire stream

That's the idea!
We'll eventually watch all of eqg, and when we're done, we'll just rewatch everything again, and maybe by then we'll have a much clearer idea of how to organize it (I guess chronologically instead of on-demand, we'll see how much official content per stream later)

It would be cool to spice up the streams from time to time and make these streams more special and unique as /our/ thing.
They would be blocks of 1 hour or less in a stream; obviously, they wouldn't be the main thing or replace anything.
Some anons commenting on the race would be nice, although it would also be fun if any anon could enter the voice chat and say something.

The shitty part is that this is basically me asking someone else to do the work because my computer doesn't support GT7 and my internet doesn't support streams lol
So it will probably end in nothing if no one offers
For my part, I offer to help and collaborate in any way that is necessary and within my reach to make something like this happen

I don't think there's a real limit, and no, the pic size isn't an impediment, whether you're talking about file size or pic size.
The latter is something the Cytube admin can choose and applies to all emotes equally.
I can use a giant image, but what will decide how it will be displayed in the chat are the cytube settings

the references/callbacks are exactly what kill it for me. The pacing of the first half is really bogged down by having to reintroduce all of the main characters, and Fluttershy's scene being a complete mirror of her original introduction made it really feel dragged out. The film picks up significantly around the cafeteria song, but it still has issues properly exploring Sunset's character/plan/etc. Much of the plot just feels obligatory for the type of movie they wanted to make. I don't know, man. It isn't the worst movie ever made, it just doesn't bring as much to the table as the stuff I like from the franchise.

The thing is, we know GT7 already has the EQG skins made by that guy, so we'd have the hardest part done (he even has eqg-only background character cars and even eqg G5, the variety is insane).
I'm totally fine with switching to another game if the skins part wasn't an issue.
I mean, a guy in the /mlp/ gaming thread offered to help with skins, but I doubt we could just ask him to make 15+ skins (and I doubt he'd make them EQG-only anyway, though I wouldn't mind if it was mostly ponies as long as there were some EQG characters)
Just today I saw the guy who made the skins streaming and asked him about it, and he said his skins should be available for public use, so that part is covered if we follow that path
