>>42360098I think what's strange to me is does any of this even work, the toys in the show. I've never even met a child who watched this show, nor a child who owned my little pony toys and whether or not they care or need them to be seen in the show. Now the show is getting kind of old I think there's people on 4chan who grew up with it.
But the idea of Hasbro making cartoons that are essentially toy commercials, that's their thing, I just don't see how that works. But maybe because I'm not a fat white american women with kids. Maybe in that kind of lifestyle yeah you have your kids watch this cartoon and then they see the toy and then you go and buy it, I guess.
The soulless corporate greed creatures I don't understand, I don't know how you sleep at night, but also I don't understand the thought process of Lauren made a great show, if the character toys are popular it's because of what the show is, so just continue making toys from the show like the Golden Oak Library. But "No, our studies show that girls want crystal stuff and pink princesses so we need Cadence we need Crystal ponies." And either that didn't work or it worked so well, "Well make Twilight a princess and give her a crystal castle too."
I'm pretty certain they would have made more money if they just let the show be what it was going to be. That's just basic logic I think since it was a success as it was. And short term monetary gains aren't always the answer anyway. I remember a panel with the voice actors they said that Hasbro was very interested and influenced by the brony phenomenon but if they were, they thought bronies were just stupid manchildren who would eat up anything anyways, or they actually didn't care because it's a brand risk to go in a direction pandering to them, but they did pander or DHX did, they did release the "adult toy" series and trading card game. But in the end Hasbro bet on their traditional way of doing things.
Also I took this picture of MLP diapers a few weeks ago.
