For context, I've been Rewatching Season 4 of fim recently, and I actually like twilight being a ailcorn but, when looking through some old threads about 'Magical Mystery Cure' I saw alot of Anon's hating on Ailcorn Twi, So, do you still hate Ailcorn Twilight or, are you over it by now?

It wasn't the worst thing ever, just disappointing. Mostly everyone preferred her as she was presented earlier in the show, and turning her into an alicorn confirmed that we wouldn't be getting that version of her back.

it didn't ruin her character or anything, but it was a bad call that made things less interesting and almost nothing good came out of it. all of twilights best episodes from season 4 onwards would be exactly the same if she was a non-princess unicorn.

Yes. Frankly I find it disingenuous that you're "asking" this because any horsefucker worth their weight in salt wouldn't need to ask it. I believe you're framing the thread as a question to thinly veil the assumption that there isn't something wrong with Twilight becoming a princess, which is an assumption not to be entertained on any level except by Hasdrones who live to consume product. When Twilight became a princess I was 13 years old and by then I couldn't make the correlation between toy marketing and show deterioration, at now 25 years old I think it is a tragedy I have to share a board with adults eminently possessing the same mental faculties I did as a child. I watched the episode a year ago for the first time in a long while, really fun episode with great songs, albeit extremely jarring. But its consequences have been disasterous, so much so that I still haven't finished the show. Season 1 to 3 are enough, if you keep on going after that, with a smile that is, then you might as well declare yourself a furry and watch an Isekai instead because thats all you amount to in spirit.

While I never liked Twilicorn as a concept, I think I also have an issue when the moment it happened. If she has become an alicorn as a conclusion like it was planned by Larson and not something that happened when no one knew when the show was truly going to end, I think this wouldn't be such a deal breaker for some.
It's like having a story with a clear conclusion and then adding a giant improvised epilogue to it. Even when I was young I knew this felt wrong somehow.

It's not about being mad it's about, it's a bad decision. It doesn't work. It works for a series finale, maybe.

And people complain about the library being destroyed and replaced by the castle. Well yeah "princess Twilight" can't just hang out in the library. It's a natural evolution.

FiM did not need this garbage. FiM was not a story of progressing to be a princess, it's a funny show with good characters in a fantasy land with sexy ponies.

And because I know, the Toy Canon Hasbro simps will say "You can still have funny episodes even though Twilight is an Alicorn." You could, they didn't really have many after hundreds of princess twilight episodes.
And the reason is deep because you can't change what a show is without skill and thought. Lauren was halfway out the door and they started introducing pink pretty alicorn princesses and shining armour who both have no personality it turned out, just like the crystal empire has no character to it.
And none of it matches season 1, which is a problem because season 1 is what FiM is, that cannot be changed without a lot of clever work. All of the characters and relationships and all elements of the show were created to create season 1 episodes.

Twilight is not important, none of the mane 6 really are. Bonbon didn't know who Rarity was. Even though she helped save the world. Twilight is just a librarian. She's a student.
They all live in a hick town of stupid ponies, they mess up celestia's name on a banner but decide to put it up anyway, and the educated canterlot pony is like "what the heck are you doing?". That's funny. Princess stuff is not fun and it just doesn't fit the character of the show. Lauren originally had not a single princess character, Celestia and Luna were Queens. The show takes place from the perspective of a canterlot snob going to a small town of "crazy ponies" and discovering friendship.

That's why Feeling Pinkie Keen is as everyone knows the best episode of the show. The Canterlot know-it l-all is utterly defeated by the hick countryside logic. "The only doozy here is how right I am!" That's Twilight Sparkle.
I think it's funny when Colgate is trying to take a selfie with Twilight because she's a princess now.

I just can't imagine who the heck cares about "character progression" in a show like this. Dash should never be apart of the Wonderbolts or Rarity have a worldwide business or Twilight be a princess. You can't treat them like real people, they are characters designed to write specific kinds of episodes.
Grand master Twilight and her friends being royalty going around condescending to the communist and jews doesn't fit.

The show is anti aristocratic. Entire episodes revolve around it, like the Gala episode. It doesn't disrespect rich society, that's not the point, that is irrelevant, it's about who the characters are and how to use them to make funny episodes.

It's like how atheist got mad at Feeling Pinkie Keen thinking it was about them. The show doesn't care about that. It's trying to be funny with likeable characters.

And, in fact it's the later show that does crap on the princesses. Season 1 and 2 Celestia is highly regarded and solves every major issue, she saved ponyville from discord she saved ponyville from the twilight's enchanted doll and would have saved ponyville from parasprites just as twilight is confidant the princess could handle them in Fillydelphia.
That's why season 2's finale was so shocking to people. But after that Celestia and Luna are shown yo be totally useless.

I don't hate, but disappointment was there.
It happened too quickly and changed her character dynamic from learning about friendship to learning about responsibilities. She still does friendship, but it's different from being a regular pony vs the princess of friendship. Honestly if it happened late in the series I wouldnt shake two shits at it.

I like Starlight, but I did not like how quick the other changlings changed to the good side. It was rushed to eliminate the threat of shapeshifters. That and I dislike the ladybug look to them. Idk if Hasbro or a designer thought black and blue bugs are beetle-like and gross but ladybugs are bright and girly, but I didn't like it.

A key factor of twilight becoming an alicorn was the fact that FiM was initially only greenlit for three seasons, so the S3 finale was written in a way where it could be a series finale if the show wasn’t renewed
Remember, season 4 wasn’t confirmed until like a month after season 3 ended
