Anyone else feel really nostalgic for Make Your Mark and early G5? It takes me back to the early 2020's. I feel like everyone was happier and less cynical back then.

Somewhat. Even though it's only been 5 years had passed. G5 had a certain feel. It was hope. Hope that when G5 was announced, and the movie came out, I was hopeful that mlp would return with a good story. But then MYM was a bust. So, that feeling of hope is something I yearned for which makes it kinda nostalgic

I miss the 80s.

It's so bizarre. They were starting off decently strong with the film, and even some of the TYT episodes were okay. But then they just completely shit the bed with MYM and the rest of TYT.

Misty was cute. Sparky can fuck off forever.

For a while after it aired, the vast majority of threads were about them. I sincerely thought for a second that G4 was a thing of the past, maybe just one big glued together general for G4 waifus and the like, with separate unique generals for all the G5 mares, erp but G5, fillies but G5, a future EqG but G5. I sincerely thought that.

But now you would think G4 is still airing and G5 was some side project almost nobody cares about, 1 thread a week for a character at its best, and the only other threads just mocking it or asking why it failed.

Thats mostly because...it fucking was, after the movie at least

MYM was always phoned in cheap 3d shit. TYT was like better than Pony life but thats a low bar, and the idw comics are as shit as the idw mlp comics always are

Remember even the G5 toy line was weak as fuck, not even little girls cared about it, i have no idea what Hasbro was thinking did they think the movie would be so fucking gangbusters it would make them a million billion and they would just coast off that forever?
