Today, I learned a very important lesson. Being a unicorn is simply superior and all other tribes are inferior!
Magic is so great and versatile! Who needs wings when you can teleport? Every other kind of pony should get with the program. Just the other day I saw an Earth pony walking to work, yikes! Don't they know that having a horn and simply thinking really hard is easier?
I get to sit around and read books all day, and guess what? I don't get fat! Thanks to magic, I found a way to get rid of all this excess fat! But unfortunately, the fat still has to go somewhere… poor Rarity doesn't even realize her dress looks a little tighter than last week…

The magical feats of a prodigy whose special talent is literally magic =/= the average unicorn. Can most unicorns even teleport? They seem mostly limited to telekinesis and maybe a spell or two related to their cutiemark. Granted telekinesis is extremely useful for a thumbless species, but I don't think the gap between tribes is as wide as you make it out, and wouldn't discount the perks of Earth Ponies and Pegasi that casually.

Glimmy is another powerful unicorn with a magic based cutie mark (presumably? I don't see how it's anything but), similar to Twilight, though not favored by fate to quite the same extent.

Notice that Glimmy still ultimately lost this encounter, even if she had an edge in the conflict. Being overpowered isn't the same as having fate on your side.
