But consider this, in TDOTS it was stated more than once that Rarity and Luna helped make Flawless even if Flawless's DNA is half Twilight and half Trixie.
Flawless could consider Luna and Rarity to be additional parents and she might as in the episode Trixie gets fired she considers herself to be future royalty. Why would Flawless consider herself future royalty if she did not consider herself related to a Royal, and if my theory is correct it means she would consider herself related to Luna, and Rarity as they both had a role in her birth.

Back to the point, Flawless herself says 50/50 because she is. It's been explained more or once but Luna doesn't factor in DNA wise as her mind wasn't part of it. Luna put Trixie's mind into a box with a direct mental line to her, Rarity used a transfer spell to shove Twilight into that box. The box is not meant to hold two so instead of housing both or even letting Twilight in, it smashed Half of Twilight into half of Trixie resulting in Flawless who for the same reason only resembled and has parts of Twilight and Trixie.

Rarity and Luna are essentially just catalyst to push those two together to create only 1 Mare, their DNA and Minds aren't part of flawless as the birth is tied two Trixie and Twilight's minds touching there for they'd only be parents if you were to say the doctor and nurses who delivered your kids or the owner of a hotel were your family as well. That is the level of connection Luna and Rarity share to flawless, the openly the room door for Trixie and Twilight to mentally touch tips

I like the idea of RariTwixie because Twilight has had romantic buildup with both Rarity and Trixie even from the early episodes of Tamers MLP so its an earned love triangle and it doesn't feel forced.

The Soarin & Braeburn and Apple Bottom and CarePackage have been completely resolved this episode.
I think the reason why the latter half of this movie was strangely paced is because Tamers just wanted to fully wrap up the Soarin, Braeburn, Applebottom, and Carepackage arcs and now those are done.
So now he can focus on the following stuff

Incredibly inconsistent in quality. Parts of it are 5/10 and others are 11/10. Probably still the second best movie because the ending is so good.

First half is okay, but the second half feels absurdly rushed. All the scenes with Mari are interesting on paper, but they did not have anywhere near enough build-up to hit the way Tamers intended.

Probably my least favorite Tmares video. The plot is schizophrenic in the worst way possible, with plot-lines coming and going without rhyme or reason. It isn't even that funny, which is its biggest sin, considering what series it is a part of.

Barely better than Infection. The new OC is dogshit, stalliondrama is at its absolute worst, Arinos and Friendship are being flanderized for the sake of having antagonists... The only thing saving it from being the bottom of the barrel is the comedy also Sombra.

Overall my ranking for the movies goes like this: TDOTS >>> SH > S&B >> Hearth's Warming > TDOTL >>> Outbreak > Infection

From the way this thread was talking about the episode, i was expecting some actual trash and to dislike it as much as Soarin & Braeburn but I actually kinda liked it! That said, 6/10 is a fair score for it, because it is very lore heavy, light on jokes, felt like it was lacking in memorable and iconic imagery that INFECTION had.
I personally give it a 7/10 because it did the impossible me; it made me not hate Braeburn. He actually had something resembling a character and a personal struggle. I'm glad tamers made him less preachy and he finally elaborates about the way he sees ApplePackage and didn't come off as mary sue as he usually would.
I was ultimately amused by Clean Sweep but he is probably the most non-tamers design we've seen in tamers' show that isn't a copy-pasted in image from a google search. I'm firmly in the "let him cook" stage with this character and his plot. I can see why this episode would be seen as bad as Soaring & Braeburn from a certain view but in my opinion, this did it better because it didn't feel like every time a character spoke, it was a long-winded monologue about shit we already know.

Well yeah. Rarity, Twilight, Sombra, Celestia, and Derpy were all carrying this movie on their back.
Once they were out of the picture (fortunately Sombra came back) all we had was Braeburn who has no charisma and can't carry a scene, Apple Bottom was the only entertaining character left for most of the movie until Sombra returned, Soarin who was taking a supporting role to Braeburn, and Big Mac who was kind of stunted.

You've never had to sit from July to November without a full episode. You've never sat through awkwardly paced "funny" episodes like uncle chuck's ice cream truck that only have one funny thing in it but where most of the humor falls flat.
You didn't witness 2 year development hell of WW3. A time period where Tamers style evolved to include more compelling sincere episodes with huge payoff like Robotnik has had ENOUGH or Sonia gets suspended from school. He's literally an under educated young adult or teen who lived with his parents and sucked dick for a living. When Applebottom fails to put forward a strong narrative philosophy which tamers can make stories out of, that's because that IS the story. Okay, so you've all heard of the "Two Tamers Theory", which tries to explain why there's such a stark difference in artstyle and story focus.
But I came up at least I hope so, it'd be kinda embarrassing if someone else already brought it up before with a different interpretation.
What if the issue isn't that there are two creators, but rather two creations?
Bam, Two Timelines Theory!

Its main goal is to explain there's little to no overlap between the two major stories in Tamers MLP, even though they logically should.
Why do we never see Flawless interact with Arinos or Care Package? Because she literally doesn't exist in their timeline.
Why do we not see Cadance and SA in stallion episodes? Because they never got back together.
Why does Twilight just abandon the family she loves in the middle of the apocalypse? Because she and Trixie never even became a thing.

The point of divergence is Fluttershy's hotpot party, but it's hard to represent that in an image, since right after it we have Pinkie's sleepover, which takes place in both timelines, since the fillies also have fucked up eyes in Outbreak.
Mind you, we probably only see the "stallion version" of Hotpot Party, and it's my belief that there's a different version where Pinkie talked with Twilight about Trixie instead of with Soarin about Braeburn, which is what ultimately causes the divide.
So yeah, fuck Ponk for dooming us to an eternity of boring gay melodrama.

The issue with putting it decisively on one timeline is that those two sexy bitches show up during Hearth's Warming, which is strictly in the stallion timeline. The whole yaoi and yuri split originated from two groups of people: those who didn't like how the stallions stole the plot in the Hot Pot episode and those who were more interested in the gay B plot in the Rainboom episode. So many god damn comments were going "I was more interested in the Soarin and Braeburn plot desu". I guess Tamers' ran with it and thought the way to please both sides was to split the stories apart sometime after the Sleepover episode. Remember, TDOTS was originally going to have both Twixie and Soarburn in the story somehow. The split was good because I just find the Trixie/Flawless story more interesting, and I think including a gay stallion B plot would've fucked up the pacing. However, with more focus put on the stallions we're now getting multiple hour long movies about a story that should've ended months ago. ApplePackage had great introductions, but it got old fast once they were lumped together with the Soarin plot and I just don't care for them as much anymore. No. The Twixie family dynamic is fun. It reminds me of a sitcom. Trixie is also an entertaining character in her own right.

I rewatched the movie today and the 2nd half isn't as bad as I originally thought. I still think Big Mac fell in love with Cleansweep too fast, and I still think Braeburn dragged down the movie.
But the ApplePackage stuff was pretty compelling.
Their apology to each other at the end was pretty funny as well.

Despite the stallion movies being the worst, the fact that Trixie movie was also bad tells me Tamer's writing style changed for the worst. Soarin has a higher perspective.

He's had his adventure and seen the consequences of his actions at least once, just like he's been through 50 or 60 years or life or whatever. Finally, he's experienced, as he should be, and married.

That means that he ultimately isn't tangled up in this incomprehensibly stupid teenager-ish drama. There's nothing he can really say to help package or split, and he isn't motivated to intrude. He knows they will work out their shit, or they won't.

Similarly, he isn't really affected by all this hoodieification infection nonsense. And because he isn't tangled up in that, he can just sit on his hooves and wait as a fake zombie. He knows that braeburn will get help, or that help simply won't come.

Notice that it's breaburn who spends time arguing with split, because it's breaburn who is near split's level and perspective. Soarin isn't an active character trying to make a change. He's just carrying people where they need to go, and then standing back.

That, and his presence allows for a greater degree of hopeless escalation in the story, because his existence lets the story get back out of that degree of escalation.

So that's both what the story uses him for and his personal set of motivations which inform his actions.

To be fair, I don't think the issues that plague TDOTL are the same that plague the stallion movies post Hearth's Warming. The latter have fundamental problems, like Tamers trying to hard to force shitty OCs onto the audience and their comedy-to-drama ratio being completely skewed.
