If you had a million Bits, in Equestria, what would you spend it on?

And while you spend your precious brain power on this very adult activity of "what would I do in Equestria?" I've been making a roleplaying MLP game myself. And so I need to develop the monetary system, you start off with 1d20 (x10) Bits. Now how much is a house? how much is food? What is Applejack's farm worth? What is Applejack's pussy worth? How much is her hat worth? Come on Appljeack give me your hat for 1,000 bits, whatcha want mah hat for? And as soon as I force her to give it to me, I take a big sniff of the inside. Do you think Appljack would be like "I can't sell ya mah hat, it's mah IDNETITY!" There should have been an episode where she loses her hat and needs to find it, Spongebob nametag style.

But look, this is about the cost of living in Equestria, one thing I've been interested in is, does Equestria have electricity in Season 1? Ovens don't require electricity and all the lights look like lamps. In season 2 you start to get weird mixes, like the regular hospital lamp and the firefly lamp in the same episode. Because in the roleplaying game I'm making its important to know how much your electricity bill will be. This is the kind of thing that is gonna have players salivating on the edge of their seat.

But isnโ€™t a million bits just US$125K? Iโ€™m pretty sure a โ€œbitโ€ means an eighth of a U.S. dollar, as in โ€œFour hours of pushinโ€™ broom buys an 8x12 four-bit roomโ€.

I saw that deleted post you made, someone, about the bits and real money or something. And I was going to mention that Flim and Flam do mention "cents" as currency, though that's probably just a mistake because this show is a mess.

A bag of apples from Sweet Apple Acres is three bits, so I guess about $1.50/bit. Food seems pretty cheap. It would have to be, because every food retailer is competing against grass, which ponies can graze off the ground for free.

A house depends. Definitely a lot cheaper than it is here, because price gouging would really be frowned upon, but it's still a lot. Enough that Applejack considers upkeep alone on the barn a significant financial burden. But if you're a pegasus, you can also just make your own house out of clouds like Rainbow Dash.

Applejack is a mare of integrity and would not sell her pussy for any price. I can't imagine she would sell her hat either. It's a family heirloom.

Rainbow Dash 5,000 bits
Rarity 10 bits

Use gems for big currency, like 100 Bits equal 1 gem or something. Also OP 1d20*10 is kind of retarded. I know nothing about your system but maybe copy Shadowrun 3e Priority System or something.

I'm almost done with my ttrpg, it'll release by the end of the month and will only be promoted here on /mlp/ the final playtest is next weekend. I had to learn html and how to code in google sheets, if you need any help anon let us know. It has took me months but it's worth it.

I don't see any problem with 1d20 (x10) for bits. Though I would like to give a wider range which I will. Some people need to start with basically nothing and some with a lot. It's simple it doesn't need to be complicated.

You misunderstand, I'm creating a Roleplaying game, not a video game. Video games are not fun as pen and paper games. Roleplaying is fun. Adventures are not fun when everyone is a clone. There's the poor person in the party, the rich guy, the guy who is good and this, who is good at that.
Some people roll a character with high stats some with low, that is the essence of true original RPGs. I would never sacrifice that fun to be more video game like. The fun is in the roleplaying and characters. To be born as a character you don't choose what you look like or your life circumstances, but you make of yourself something from that. Anything else, I am disgusted by.
Rolling dice and recording damage is not what pen and paper D&D ripoffs are about. They need interesting character dynamics. So that you can have from the get go an Applejack like character with enough money to own a farm, and a poor character like Pinkie who lives where she rents. Very simple.

I cannot believe people think any other way, to force arcade like mechanics on fantasy pen and paper roleplaying games. The world you live in with 100 bits per person, that's not a real world, that's not a lived in world. I feel something and learn something about this fantasy world from the character creation itself, rather than impose upon it what I want.

That's why I suggested you use The Priority System faggot. It creates choice and balances out retards with no money and retards with a fuck ton of money without everyone being a copy of each other. In a lived in world as you stated someone with less money would have more streetsmarts then someone with a billion bits, THAT IS THE PRIORITY SYSTEM!

Most players don't want to be outclassed in every way by their peers because they rolled badly when starting their characters. That's why almost every single game I've played for the last 10 or so years always used alloted or point by.

Under no circumstance does not having money mean you should have benefits in some other way. I will do as I have always done, a character must not be some video game "balanced" character in a roleplaying game where the fun is in the story and actions. "Outclassed by other players" my goodness I would never want to play with such babies who play D&D games with that mindset.
Go ahead, create games for little babies in diapers.

Alright, 180 bits, on the higher end. So assuming one doesn't just start with a home unless certain choices are made at character creation, this should be enough for a player to reasonably afford either a good home with light amenities bonuses or a modest home with much more left over for supplies or special items
