Is MLP still popular with little girls?
I will have a daughter in a couple months. This is a sincere question, will she grow up well adjusted if I show her the show? Do I just let the episodes run on the main tv in the living room on repeat like a never ending marathon?

that sounds really nice actually, i’m basically planning the same. but i’d have it be like a movie night thing, where we sit together and watch an episode or so

You can, but I am reminded of the meme of setting up your child for disappointment when she sees the amazing show only to find out there’s no more.
>there's more… right?
Or it could be a "don't be sad it's over, be glad it happened" situation.

First and foremost, congratulations anon! I'm sure you'll make a terrific father. Secondly, I'm sure she'll be just fine. The show was aimed at young girls and in most episodes has a lesson to be learned. It's definitely much better than having it watch some of the slop around these days.
The show is still popular with young girls, I'd say. I was at a gas station last week wearing a Trixie shirt and a little girl, couldn't have been older than 7, pointed it out to her dad.

congratulations anon!!
I think it's still somewhat popular, but no more so than your modern slop, so keep in mind that you're raising her with outdated things in an era where trends are becoming stronger and parents raise their children to obey every existing trend.
>>42385961
this, it's something I've always thought about doing if I were a dad, not just about mlp but about all kinds of fiction in general.
You can control what she watches without making her feel pressured, and instead turn it into a tender, family event.

Congrats my fellow normalfag!
You definitely should watch together. Maybe a discussion after an episode wouldn't hurt because some lessons are not really good. I'd say the show is a bit too violent for pre-schoolers and I'm pretty sure you won't like you daughter acting like Rainbow.
And make sure she won't ever google them.

Honestly, ask that question about FiM's popularity with children again in two years. Congratulations on starting a family, Nonny. I really hope you will be a happy family that can communicate healthily in an age of dysfunctional families left and right.

As for showing her them little ponies: There are guidelines for how much screen time children should have, and kids aged 2-5 should only have an hour a day, preferably watching media together with you. Even if it's not as popular, you have seen the show yourself and know it might be flawed, but it isn't literal brainrot like e.g. nuSpongeBob. If there's an episode (or season; or content in general) you don't want your sweet little princess to watch, you can simply skip it. (As for vidya, my personal impression is to start kids on a retro console.)
Encourage her to play with physical toys, play with her. Read books together. Draw ponies together. Enjoy the time you get to spend together this way, being her hero, her rolemodel. Children need to feel safe and loved.

Ponies are super cute, so chances are, she will like ponies regardless of how popular they will be with her peers. But the first year will only be about feeding, cleaning and snuggling her, kek.

Just let nature take it's course, if you force it, you might turn them off to the show or make them get bored of it. I have two sons and never pushed them into anything, just presented them with anything and everything I could think of, mostly boy stuff. One came around to love dinosaurs and monsters, he really loves big scary things, little adrenaline junky. The other loves cars and things that go fast, didn't take long, and now he's almost 4 and is obsessed with sonic. One day out the blue, he randomly decided he wanted to watch my little pony, and he loves it! His favorites are rainbow dash and pinky of course. I don't know how he even came about knowing of the show, guess he watched it with one of his girl cousins? Either way he saw it in the YouTube feed among the other kids stuff and asked to watch pony, it was so hard to contain my excitement. Having someone to watch pony with is something I've never had. He doesn't want to watch it all the time, kids get bored quickly. So ofcourse any time he does ask it's a great time. Just trust in your kid, they are full of surprises, but at the end of the day they are basically a mini you...and will inherit whatever flavor of autism you have...for better or worse.

This is the way. Just let them discover the shows they enjoy by themselves even just by leaving them alone with the TV on and see their reaction. And if they really like it might as well seconding them later on. Most kids have low attention span especially when they are still very little.
Anonymous No.42387672 >>42387688 >>42388218
>>42387282
Exactly, don't go and ask them "do you wanna watch pony?", or tell them "hey we're watching pony". Do t complicate things with words. Just put it on, while they aren't paying attention, and even better watch it yourself. Whatever the case, your kids are gonna wanna be like you and if you show interest in something so will they why my most kids these days are phone addicts and it's a surefire way to guarantee whatever is on the TV is of at least some sense of quality, I won't put anything on the TV for them I can't also stomach, I will tolerate allowing them some brainrot as their mother has been giving them her phone since they were one typical 3D no hooves and they are addicted...but I'm trying to make memories here. They only ask me for my phone for a laugh, they get a big smile on their face every time and I always tell them no And than we laugh. One of them tries to convince me to let him play "that Mario game" on my phone. I don't have games on my phone, kids love structure but they still love to test the waters lol. More often than not we are watching fireworks, dancing bacons (a channel on YouTube where a couple travels Japan, with a specific focus on food)...we watch movies, and go outside and play in the water and mud, and catch bugs and snakes. Current favorite movies are you story, the sonic ova, and the old Jurassic park.

You sound like a good parent, Anon. My nephews watched some (dubbed) FiM because of their respective sisters watching it, and they're both completely normal boys with boy hobbies otherwise. They didn't catch the poni virus from it, but the dub honestly just sucks, so I'm actually glad they might one day discover "real" FiM if they happen to like cartoons. (>inb4 they discover clop instead because they're about to hit puberty)

>>42387220
You'll do fine, Nonny. You're in for a wild ride of responsibilities, but your daughter will love family time, even when you return home late. Quality over quantity, no?
Faust lovingly created the show for little girls, respecting that there are different ways to be girls, so it's safe to add it to the mix of media you offer to her. Maybe she'll rather play in the mud instead; you'll love her all the same.
What's more important than all the ponies in the world is for your little one to feel safe and understood around mommy and daddy, so she can make sense of this strange new world and the weird sensations in her body.

And you're way ahead of me; I'm still a couple years away from starting a family, but I will.

Oh God please no...I don't know how I'd handle that situation...probably at least not pretend there isn't a problem, and allow him to rot in his cesspit of gooning and faggotry...Chris is obviously at fault himself at this point, but his parents are primarily to blame.

Thank (you) anon, I really needed that.
And don't worry about your nephews too much. If they're anything like I was, they'll be turned off by the clop, think it's weird for a couple years, until they inevitability get emotionally attached to the cartoon horses and start to develop those types of feelings for pony...by that point, well it'll be there own fault for looking it up.
