The good news is that the next part is already done. I'll hold onto it for a few days to keep the thread active, but it shouldn't take nearly as long to get it out as this one did.

One of you suggested electrostim. I had no idea how to fit it into things at first, but after a bit of reflection it wound up fitting perfectly. It gives Lovelace something to do, and it meshes nicely with what I intended to do to Coco. It'll probably start out pretty rudimentary, but that leaves room to grow.

The main cause is chlorination, which changes the texture to make it easier to put on. Though many people hate the feeling of chlorinated latex, so it's not universal.
As for resources, it's a combination of youtube, R*ddit, Wikipedia, and a bit of real life experimentation. I did have to fill in a few blanks on my own with my understanding of chemistry, which isn't great.

Industrially, latex is made very similarly to how Pinkie made balloons. Mix liquid latex containing cautchouc, formaldehyde, and ammonia in a vat with pigment, dip stuff in it, and bake it. I'm not sure about that, if I ever expand the story I had multiple ideas for possible directions. One possibility would be to make Celestia a Twilight too, and giving her a place in Twilight's new collective as the dorky but still very much arrogant nerd to the original's dominance and Luna's whorish submission. Even if they're clones they should have some way of telling them apart. Another idea I had was for Twilight to turn Rainbow Dash or Rarity into herself. She respects their high self image but thinks it should be directed towards a better pony. The nerd Twilight role is perfect for Rainbow Dash, but if Rarity was the one turned I'd make her into the classy armcandy of the dominant Twilight. Rarity could also become dronified for any manual labor Twilight needs doing with the precision only she can manage.
