Work week is finally over and I have 3 days off now. Probably going to fap and go to sleep. Would play El Dorito if I wasn't so tired.

>be 10 years old in mid 2000s
>open Microsoft Excel
>plug in the wages needed to support a family
>plug in rent, utilities, medical bills, everything I can think of, and average them out
>realize you have to live VERY frugally to not be close to homelessness at all times
It was then I decided I'd never work and that I'd just accept money if a hobby ever earned money.

Haha well it's not like those numbers from back then could've gotten any worse, maybe you should try to crunch the numbers and see if things will work out better for you

This is only a valid criticism if at least 51% of such complaints are directed at lobbyists, and I guarantee they're not in your case.

Unfortunately finding a job is very very difficult these days. I no longer view "unemployed" as something worthy of derision, after trying as long as I did to finally get my own job. I did eventually, but boy was it a miserable process that I would not wish on anyone.

As a creative, I actually had less drive when I had no job. Too much free time can kill motivation, because you're constantly numbing your brain with entertainment and dopamine. If you're at work, you CAN'T work on your passions, and so you spend a lot more time dreaming about them, and you value the free time you have more. Since getting a job, I've spent more of my free time creating and far less of it playing video games and such.
Of course, I'd imagine some jobs are too exhausting even for that. Mine still leaves me with at least a little bit of energy during my time off, although juggling exhaustion and creative work is still a struggle.

Have you checked considered just... *not* supporting a family on a single income? Do the math for supporting yourself instead of the wife and kids you don't have.
