This server uses a plugin that changes the stats of some weapons. See https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?p=2717299 for more info. All reverts except for the old airblast are active by default, and most reverts can be toggled in-game.

Consider installing mastercomfig if you have frequent frame drops, bad hitreg, poor network connectivity, or are new to the game. See https://mastercomfig.com/ for easy installation. It is STRONGLY recommended that all players install some preset of mastercomfig since TF2's default netcode settings have not been changed since 2007.

It’s one thing to do this on a server like Bad Weapon Rehabilitation where the theme revolves around trying to balance the game more, but it is another thing to do this on a server where the central theme is playing with fellow bronies. Why does everyone think we're going to have EVERY revert option enabled?
We have certain ones turned on by default, others turned off by default, and others still that you can pick which version you want to use. It would be no different with the Castaway plugin.

I think this applies to a lesser extent to some other weapons like rescue ranger, loch and jag. Already good weapons that don't get actual reworks from the revert, just stat buffs which push them from a decent choice to overshadowing the other items in the slot, something to be avoided I think

Faster charging rate mostly helps for navigating the map, modern persuader allows for getting 100% charge on kill with booties, enabling chaining, which is much more important than faster charge since most of your kills are happening nearby other enemies you need to get to/escape from. Also, ammo pickups from already dead players/passive spawns basically make up for the lack of passive generation anyway. The chaos factor of packs is more fun imo than a static charge

I personally think the projectile speed is a drawback because it makes rocket jumps much harder if not close to impossible in some cases, and having only 2 rockets after a bomb is obscenely bad. However, I do agree the revert should be left alone because that allows the LL to keep its status as a unique rocket launcher, the only weapon with a 5 clip, and I think its a more fun design than the revert.

as a heavy player i agree but thats not how we treat literally any of the other classes on this server, if heavy has to think about when he spins up pyro shouldn't be allowed to light you on fire and one shot you with the axtinguisher in under 2 seconds, demo shouldnt get +20% damage AND 3 pills on the loch, spy shouldn't get insane damage resistance on the dead ringer and no scaling on ambi crits.

I’m sorry I didn’t mention this during open mic night, but here are some thoughts on reverts I’d like to see changed.

Let’s get rid of the Dead Ringer’s inability to give spies speed boosts. A 90% damage resistance or so is one thing, but it doesn’t mean much when a pyro can keep spraying in the same direction and make the spy visible to everyone. I’m pretty sure that the previous revert plugin kept the speed boost even if it wasn’t in the game before the Gun Mettle update, so I think we should either give the DR back its speed boost or either unrevert it or find a different revert plugin/script if necessary.

The reverted Panic Attack also seems like a nerf on the heavy, soldier, and pyro, since it only limits the ability to use a secondary weapon for its purpose: a backup for when the primary weapon fails. Not being able to shoot it from the get-go therefore only means that it would be a nerf for classes who use it as a secondary weapon. However, this would be a welcome revert for engineers, since the ability to fire faster as one’s health depletes would mean that engineers get a weakness of their class balanced out: they have to use what other classes consider to be secondary weapons as primaries, but they can fire faster and at least have somewhat of a greater chance at living if it means they have to be at low health to benefit from this. Therefore, I’d also like to ask that the Panic Attack revert only be applied to the engineer class.

I’m also against item set bonuses, since it would mean that Shortstop scouts, for example, wouldn’t be able to use the reverted Sandman-cleaver combo to benefit from the set’s health boost. In these cases, maybe we could look at other reverts to apply, such as giving the Shortstop back its 20% bonus healing and 40% knockback penalty.

Good news demoknight mains - we just tested the shields on the server and turns out that, for some reason, the shields work even better than in the old plugin - they still get the new chargecrit mechanic, in addition to the old chargebash mechanic. So they have both the crit mechanics now.
Except for the splendid screen because it's currently unreverted.

no it wasn't, the patch notes here are weirdly stated but you could always crit after a long charge. what the notes are saying is that instead of getting a crit when you bash, the crit status after you bash is based on the distance you charged, which is just another way of stating that it works like how it works when you swing without bashing.

The thing is the Castaway plugin offers variants which are a "best of both worlds" sort of option. Both have the same stats as modern TF2 (so the speed boost on feign and afterburn immunity for 3 seconds), and both can pick up ammo while uncloaked for charge (at a -35% less though), but Variant 1 has a 75% damage resist and Variant 2 has a 50% damage resist. We could literally have our cake and eat it too.

I’ve said this before, but if it is necessary for me to reiterate this now and/or on Saturday, I will do it again. The damage resistance means absolutely nothing if it means pyros can keep spraying in the same direction and spies have no chance of escaping if they only move slightly faster than pyros without any speed boost. Sure, the spy would eventually be able to outrun the pyro, but at that point, the spy would already be on fire and the pyro could just fire a flare at him and likely kill him instantly.

The previous revert plugin kept the speed boost even though it reverted mostly everything else, so why can’t this one?
