“Lo-si? A cute name, but it doesn’t seem like it fits a person very well.”

“B-wh-what?” Losi had only zoned out for a moment, mind fluttering with distant art, but the smooth teasing of a woman hit her like a freight train as she was pulled back to reality. Leaning against the counter was a woman. A tall glass of punk that scattered Losi’s mind. Her hair was the most noticeable part of that look, a bleached off-white pink that was accented by rather vibrant pink highlights, giving a beautiful blend of sophisticated and garish. Her outfit matched the feel of her hair well, a classy mix of white and black, held together and accented by a rose-colored spiked collar.

“Seems more like the name of a pet~” The woman was fucking with her right now, the tone of voice was- The woman was totally fucking with her and it had her heart beating like a drum.

“P-pet?” Oh Christ the woman could smell the weakness on you, the gaze coming from her bright blue eyes was barrelling through you like a passenger train meeting a tumbleweed.

“I’d like a pet, maybe, but I came here for Coffee, sadly. I should really be getting back to my shop soon- ‘left some customers outside when I went on break and they might get a bit upset being forced to wait.”

“O-oh! Uh- wh-what do you want from- from the order?” You can survive this, Losi, she’s totally hitting on you and you’re currently a ripped apart pile of russian thistle– Oh god you wish she’d metaphorically– maybe literally– rip you apart.

“You look stressed, how about we go simple, black, vente?” God, the way she tilted her head and smiled as she said that. Was she acting caring, or teasing? Which would you even prefer?

“U-uh y-yeah, n-name of the order?” Calm, you were calm. You could totally make this.

“Let’s go with Hydrangea~” Losi barely was able to scribble the woman’s name near the top of the cup through the shaking of her hands. The poor woman would be left thinking to herself, What the fuck did she mean by that, and how the fuck does her name make me want her more.
Losi would be daydreaming about being metaphorically ripped apart while serving the next few customers, only stopping, when she was beaned in the side of the head with an empty coffee cup, “Wh-wha?”

She’d look back through the cup’s trajectory, seeing nothing, but once she picked up the cup and examined it her heart started chasing an arrhythmia once more.

For the first time in a while she’d ask her boss to leave work early.

There were plenty of weird places in the city, and the store signed kasi pona fit that bill nicely. The store’s bricks were a dark black, unlike anything else on the street. The lettering was painted on the side of the shop with a graffiti pattern. The dimmed interior used a nice mix of clashing colors to contrast with the creamy yellow of the walls. Whoever owned the shop obviously cared enough to decorate it personally, buying punk bands and foreign movie posters. Losi stood there waiting a moment, staring, before realizing that there was nobody inside the store. She’d start to reconsider

“What name did you see coming in?” Hydrangea would ask after opening the door and letting the shorter woman inside.

“Wh-what did you mean?” Oh god she’s fucking with me again, isn’t she?

“Oh- nothing, I guess. I’ll ask again later, to see if it makes a bit more sense~” The hairdresser would lead Losi to a chair, brushing it off despite the lack of visible hair, "Anyway, take a seat. I’ll be right back.”

Losi slumped into the comfortable Hairdresser’s chair as she waited for the woman to return. Maybe she was making a mistake? She didn’t often come to places like this. She could be absolutely fucke-

“Back~”

Losi would be snapped back to reality by the words of the strange woman reentering the room, holding a bright blue collar in one hand, keeping something else bundled up in the fold of her arm. Losi would blush as she watched the woman approach in the mirror, “Uh- wh-what’s with the collar?”

“Well, the first part of a new look is some accessories. And a new look- Little Losi- is what I pride on truly giving people~” The woman would lecture as she approached Losi, beginning to rub her hands through Losi’s long, soft hair, stopping for a moment to scratch reassuringly at the scalp.

“Oh- uh- well-” Losi’s heart would be absolutely fucking pounding at the touch of the woman, feeling her brush the hair out of the way so she could slip the padded blue collar around Losi’s neck.

“Plus, a pet has to match her owner, and I happened to have a collar that matched my eyes perfectly~” The woman would say, revealing that the bundle was a dark red leash. One that quickly found itself clipped to Losi’s new collar.

“L-l-leash?” Losi would barely be able to squeak out. Oh god the fucking petplay. Not the petplay. This woman is fucking- god- she’s-

“I absolutely wouldn’t want my brand new pet getting lost~” Hydrangea would reply in a sing-song voice, wrapping the collar a few times around the arm of the chair.

“Oh- oh-” Holy fuck this woman’s teasing was destroying Losi. This kind of damage was Irrecoverable. If she didn’t get out soon-

“I think you’d look absolutely fantastic with blue hair, don’t you think? Something electric~” Hydrangea would muse as she took a nearby brush to Losi’s train of thought would once again be destroyed as the woman took the brush to her hair, streaks of a vibrant blue left with every stroke. Losi would notice, but it’d be hard for her to respond. She was left pretty speechless by the act. “God, I love watching their reactions when they first realize what’s going on~”

“M-mag-ic?”

“Yes, cutie. Magic” The woman would reassure Losi with a rub to the side of, “Making a whole new you, a better you~”

“Wh-what kind of new me?” Losi’s voice would waver, squeaking as she wiggled. A few things were clicking into place in Losi’s head. Had Hydrangea ever even given her the address or the name of the store? Hydrangea would grab a nearby apron and slip it onto Losi, lovingly tucking it beneath the color before she began to work properly.

“A pet- cute, fluffy for sure.” The woman would tease as Losi felt herself begin to inch downwards in her seat, a glowing warmth growing over her body beneath the apron, “But what kind of pet, my dear, are you?”

“Wh-what… I don’t…” Losi would try to respond, her brain barely able to keep up with the situation.

“Losi, Losi, you can’t hide anything from me. Something soft, stubby…” As the woman spoke Losi could feel her fingers begin to shrink beneath the apron, being pulled back into her shrinking hand, approaching the short and stubby paws of an animal, “No fingers for Losi, but maybe a bit more… not even paws to grasp for things. Cute, stubby little Hooves.” She’d feel the woman spritz her hair with water as she ran her fingers through it.

“losi, the cute Little Pony. Just a cute little pet; with a cute little mane to style, a cute little snoot to feed treats, and a cute little tail to pull~” Losi would watch her face grow out slowly into a cute muzzle, gaining a pale yellow fuzz that matched the walls of a salon. She could feel the room swimming, body shifting as the woman pulled back her hair and began clipping at it with scissors.

“And a very cute, bright, little mind behind those pony eyes… Not something I’d ever take from a pony quite as cute as you, but I don’t think you want to be a person anymore… a little too much baggage… you want to be a pet, something to be owned… and adored.” As the woman spoke, Losi's already destroyed mind was scattered further beyond repair, something being deeply changed by the words and the magic; it’d barely come back into focus with the buzzing of a pair of clippers against the side of it’s head.

“Wh-what are you-” It would be scarred for a moment, watching the woman starting to shave off the side of her head… but Hydrangea’s smile… the look in her eyes made it begin to relax again. losi had been well and truly defeated the moment it’d first looked at those eyes.

“I think losi would look very nice with a more punky look, something to show how despite being owned, it’s truly unique and worth cherishing… plus I’m sure the world would want to see more of that cute ear flopping around~” The woman would stop the shears for a moment to speak, running her fingers through losi’s hair and penetrating it to it’s very core.

“Th-that… sounds… very nice…” losi would close her eyes for a moment, listening to it’s heart before the noise was once more drowned out by the shears. It’d inhale as it felt the shears against it’s head again, taking off more and more of the electric blue mane. When it opened it’s eyes once more they were much larger, matching her new pony head shape. The woman pulled the shears away, purposely leaving them on as they moved through the air; she took a moment to tease them against losi’s new pony ear, causing it to twitch.

“What a fantastic pony you turned out to be, losi. Just as I knew it would be~” Hydrangea would grab the apron and untuck it from the collar, slowly pulling it down the new mare’s body. First exposed would be the thin shoulders, then the short stubby forelegs that attached to them, followed by the barrel, the weird paunch caused by the silly pony sitting like a human, and finally with a flourish… the blank flanks and electric blue tail sticking out from beneath them. losi would be left staring at itself until losi’s leash was unwrapped and she was scooped up into the large woman’s arms.

“Let’s see, I think my brand new pony would enjoy watching something with me… maybe a foreign film. So she can stare at the humans talking, barely following along with the plot like a cute little pony should~” Hydrangea would wrap the leash around her hand as she walked, her size easily allowing her to carry the little pony, “Maybe an anime, something classic.”

losi could only nod along.

I’ve spent a bit of the past month messing around with styles from earlier gens, and while I can reproduce them with some fidelity, each leaves things to be desired.
I’m really not happy with how G3-G3.5 comes out, and G1 has its oddities even on an episode-to-episode basis. I like the Rescue at Midnight Castle style, and even Escape from Catrina’s was good. But I guess the Chernobyl disaster had unexpected far-reaching consequences, because by mid-1986 the style is markedly different and just doesn’t do it for me.
I’m also having trouble faking VHS artifacting, and it bothers me that I know exactly what I need to do to get it (spend ten bucks at a thrift store), yet it’d feel like overkill to actually buy a VHS to make my stuff more “authentic”. Whatever. Enough yapping, I have ponies to draw!

Silver Platter stood still in the shower. Thinking about what happened in Canterlot. She has beaten that mugger within an inch of his life. Which had horrified her mistress Rarity. That, along with how panicked she got when the cutie mark crusaders had snuck out, has led her mistress trying to convince Silver Platter that she needs to get help. It was like one moment she was a regular pony, the next she was something else. All this self reflecting brought her back to when she was still adjusting to being a pony, the day she had earned her cutie mark.

It was only around a month after she had become the unicorn known as Silver Platter. Rarity had been letting her stay at the boutique. Currently she was looking for a job. She was in the exact same shower, thinking to herself as she still struggled a little with cleaning herself with hooves. She had still yet to get the hang of magic. She began to think to herself:

●”Damn Twilight. I'm stuck in this pastel hellhole and it's all her fault.”●
∆”I mean it's not all bad. My fur feels soft and comfy. Everypony is nice. Life is quaint, cozy, and simple. And Twilight didn't really intend for this to happen.”∆
●”What am I thinking? It's everyBODY. And I definitely shouldn't forgive that bitch. She ruined my life.”●
∆”Even though I've lost my previous life, this new one isn't so bad. I kinda like it.”∆
●”No! I shouldn't be thinking that! My whole life is gone! I shouldn't be liking this new life I've been forced into!”●
∆”And do what? Just be miserable all the time? This makes me happy and I should enjoy that it does.”∆
●”But what if I lose myself? I feel like I'm becoming more and more like a pony mentally. What if I become nothing more than a shell of myself? Not a single bit of humanity remaining.”●
∆”What am I thinking? Such a thing is ridiculous. Besides, even if I'm slowly losing my humanity, perhaps it's not a bad thing. What use does acting like a human have in a world of ponies? It's nothing more than a reminder that brings forth pain.”∆
●”But I don't want to lose my humanity. Because what would I become without it?”●

Her thoughts felt as if they were two sides of an argument rather than her actual thoughts. As if her pony brain is arguing with what remains of humanity. Letting out a sigh, Silver Platter proceeds to rinse off and exit the shower. Drying off and looking in the mirror. Topaz yellow eyes glinting in the light and typically curly blue mane wet and straight, she slowly turns her body sideways. Looking at the reflection of her blank flank in the mirror. Causing her to think once more:

●”Would gaining it cause me to lose what remains of my humanity?”●
∆●”Will I be satisfied with what it ends up being?”●∆

She shakes her head, trying to clear her mind. Deciding to go take a walk. Brushing her mane and grabbing the bag of bits she had acquired through the occasional odd-job she did, she exited the building. The sun shining brightly down on her coat. Evaporating what water from her shower remained on it. She slowly meandered through the streets. Awkwardly waving back at any pony who greeted her.

Eventually she ended up wandering into the market place. Admiring the many wares that the countless stalls sold. Her train of thought was interrupted by a loud cracking noise. Her ears swivel to the source of the noise as she turns to look. Seeing Applejack standing over a tipped over cart with a broken off wheel.

“Gosh darn it! Of all da times ma cart coulda broke, it happens right now!” She shouts in annoyance. Silver Platter approaches the apple loving mare slowly. “Need any help with that?” The mauve unicorn asks. Gathering up the fallen apples for the earth pony.

“Thanks Silver Platta!” The farmer of apples responds. The non-silver colored mare handing AJ the red fruits. Pushing the cart back up and placing the lost fruits back in. Silver Platter has to admit, she did feel very nice helping Applejack clean up the spilled apples. “No problem, Applejack. I'm happy to help.”

After some small talk with Applejack, she heads to sugarcube corner. In the mood for something sweet as a snack. Slowly she enters the shop. Perhaps she should get something for Spike and Rarity, she thinks to herself. But before she could continue with that thought, a certain pink party pony bounces up to her.

“Heya Silver Platter!~ I haven't seen you in like forever! Last time we talked, you were still using your old name. Speaking of, why did you choose the name Silver Platter? You're neither silver nor own a platter. Speaking of platters, I've been thinking about making platters of assorted cookies for the parties I host. The cakes agree that it seems like a good idea, but I want some more ponies’ opinions on it. What do you think?” The cotton candy menace says before the unfortunate unicorn could get the chance to say even a single word.

“W-well for why I chose that name, I'm not actually quite sure myself. It just felt right.” She then sighs and takes a deep breath. “As for the cookie platter idea, I think it could be fun.” She then fidgets with her blue curly mane for a second, thinking about what she'd like to order. “Anyway, I'd like to order six cupcakes. Planning on giving some to Spike and Rarity.”

“On it! Will be back in a jiffy!” Pinkie pie says, leaving within the blink of an eye. A cloud of dust being left behind in the mare’s place. While Pinkie is busy baking, Mrs Cake brings a trio of milkshakes to three fillies, the cutie mark crusaders. But part way through her journey to the table, she trips and spills the sugary liquids. The milkshakes covering the floor.

Remembering the nice feeling she felt when she had helped Applejack, Silver Platter decided to spring into action. “Please, allow me to clean it. You're such a busy mare after all.” The blue mare smiles at her in response. “Thank you dear. That would be very appreciated!”

Silver Platter gets to cleaning the sugary puddle. Using a rag to mop it up. Humming happily to herself. “Hey Miss Silver, how come you don't have a cutie mark? I've never seen an adult without a cutie mark.” Sweetie Belle, unicorn member of the cutie mark crusaders and sister of Rarity, asks.

Silver Platter stiffens up in response. “Well y-you see, I'm n-not exactly a regular pony… I don't really like talking about it… If you really need to know, please ask your sister…” She says with a frown as she finishes up cleaning. “Okay Miss Silver!” The white filly says happily. Seemingly oblivious to the tension emanating from the older mare. The trio of fillies running off with their milkshakes once Mrs Cake brings out the replacement ones.

“Thank you again dear.” The blue baker says. She smiles at the bakery owner in response. “It's really no problem. I'm happy to help.” Silver Platter says with a smile. The fuzzy feeling returns, although dimmed thanks to a certain filly reminding her of her past.

Then the pink mare finally returns with a box of cupcakes. Handing it to her. “How much do I owe you?” Silver Platter asks, sifting through her bag of bits. “It's on the house dear. Consider it a thanks for your help.” Says Mrs Cake with a big smile. “Thank you, Mrs Cake.” Silver Platter responds with a bow. Then she takes the cupcakes and begins to head out.

Before she can leave, the ex rock farmer blocks her way. Giving Silver Platter a flyer to a hearts and hooves party she's planning. Silver Platter takes the flyer and leaves. The reminder of the upcoming holiday causing the mare to think:

●”What am I thinking!? I shouldn't be attracted to ponies!”●
∆”But I'm a pony myself, not a human. Not anymore. And there are so many cute mares and handsome stallions.~”∆
●”No! Bad thoughts! Stop!”●
∆”Who am I kidding? I can't deny my desires.~”∆
●”No matter how hard I try….”●

Eventually she arrives back at the boutique. Entering, she sees there's currently no one around asides from the crusaders. Who are currently talking amongst themselves. “Hey, have you seen Rarity and Spike? I wanted to eat these cupcakes with them and hang.” She asks the trio. “We haven't seen them either. My sister and Spike are probably still busy looking for gems.” Says Sweetie Belle. As if on cue, the two of them enter, both carrying a large pile of gems.

“Oh! Hello darlings! What are you all doing together?” Rarity asks. “Well I actually just entered a minute ago looking for you two. I brought some cupcakes.” Silver Platter responds, opening up the package of cupcakes. “And we were wondering why Miss Silver doesn't have a cutie mark and were going to ask you about it!” Said Rarity's sister. “And why me?” The indigo maned unicorn asks. “Cause when we asked Silver Platter, she said she doesn't like to talk about it, and that if we really want to know, to ask you.” Pipes up Scootaloo.

“Well that's a bit of a long story. I'll tell you three later. First me and Spikey need to put away these glorious gems.~ And also spend some quality time with our friend Silver Platter.” She turns to Silver Platter. “Feel free to place the cupcakes in the kitchen. We'll be with you in a minute darling.”

Silver Platter nods in response. But before she could reach the kitchen, a loud crashing noise echoes through the boutique. Rarity having tripped on Spike’s tail. Causing both of them to drop the gems they're carrying. As if on instinct, she approaches the mess. Her horn started to glow. In a complete trance as she carries the mess of gems in an aura of bright pink. Neatly putting away all the gems. A bright light emanating from her flanks as she does so.

By the time she snaps out of it, the mess is gone and there's a cutie mark on her flanks. A silver platter with a golden six pointed star on it. “Wow Miss Silver! Dat’s a nice cutie mark!” Shouts Applebloom. Startling the mauve mare a little. Slowly she turns to look at her flank. “Does this mean my destiny is to be a maid?.... I'm surprisingly okay with that.” Silver Platter says with a smile. “Now, who wants a cupcake?~”

Silver Platter chuckled to herself as she finished reminiscing on the day she got her cutie mark. That was a nice day. She then went to thinking about her two recent freak outs. First thinking about when the crusaders snuck out.

Her heart felt like it was beating a million times a minute. Panic flooding her mind. Her thoughts a jumbled mess:

∆”Stay calm. Don't freak out. They couldn't have gotten that far.”∆
●”But what if they got hurt!? What if I can't find them!? Mistress Rarity will never forgive me! She'll hate me forever!”●
∆”Calm down! Think logically! There's no way that's gonna happen. Such a scenario is very unlikely.”∆
●”But it could! What if it does!? I must find them at any cost!”●

Before she knew it, she was already tearing her way across town in a manic panic attack. Her heart feeling like it's going to burst out of her chest.

With a sigh, she shakes her head and then thinks about the mugger incident. The stallion was standing in front of them, blocking her and Rarity's way. His blade pointed at them. She could've easily disarmed and restrained him. But in her mind, there was a simmering rage:

●”How dare he! Trying to harm our generous and lovely mistress! He will pay!”●
∆”I shouldn't be too cruel to him though. He's just a common crook, not a super powerful threat to all of Equestria.”∆
●”No! He's a crook. I shouldn't show a crook any mercy. He wishes to harm our mistress and steal our stuff. I'm going to make him pay!”●

With a fit of pure fury, she pulverized the unfortunate stallion. Slamming him into as many things as possible. But her fury turned to regret and shame as Rarity looked at her with horror.

Silver Platter exited the shower with tears in her eyes. Saddened as she remembers how she had terrified her mistress and friend by brutalizing that mugger. As she gets dried off and dressed, she sighs. Slowly making her way down stairs, where she's greeted by Rarity. “Morning mistress Rarity! I've been thinking about what you said, and you're right.
