i am not defending my behavior, i simply dislike the idea of people being capable or worthy of deciding on objective morality, or there even being such thing.
while i agree laughing at people killing themselves or gaining joy from the misery of others is usually not a good thing, noone can really decide what is good or bad, one could measure the morality of an action by it´s outcome in terms of minimizing overall human misery, is the overall misery in the world is reduced the action is good.
eg.: you give a man 100 bucks, he needs it, he gains more joy than you feel sad by missing it, the action is therefore moral
what if he steals it and you miss it less than he needs it? is it still moral? this does not work. more extreme example would be if i laughed at a man who killed himself, well, i would gain joy, and it wouldn´t really make anyone else miserable then the action would be moral by this metric, which even i agree is bullshit.
other way i have thought of doing it would be to take an average of the moral values of a group of people and have the "societal morality", following these morals would get you the least shit thrown at you but it´s not necessarily objective, most people fucking suck.
or the most usual kind of objective morality would be the one that is dictated by a deity and it´s prophets. or you could just say that every human is supposed to or just feels it deep down, which i don´t think i do for most issues, and know for a fact many actually ill individuals are proven to be incapable of.
morality is subjective and specific to a person, noone has the same moral values, i don´t believe in the idea of objective morality, there is no good or evil, simply things that make you feel icky and gross, or outright fill you with wrath and loathing and then there are things you aproove of or make you feel good and happy when seeing them, that´s what i think morality breaks down to. however i am not an advocate of degeneracy and anarchy having having strong moral compasses with very similar settings is integral to a working society.
i am well aware that her majesty would smite me down before i even finished this rant for tainting her world with my edgelord like drivel, just as most other deities would.
i am not using all this shit to explain why i am not bad or any shit like that, i am well aware i am not a good person, nor do i strive to better myself even though i know i should.
