I'm guessing something about the fungus spreading and the good of the colony.

Are mushroom ponies mobile? Or, can they roam freely. My guess is that they are mobile, but they tend to stay in one place where there is decaying organic matter (leaves. Fallen trees, etc.). When decaying matter runs short they enter a roaming phase where they migrate to a new location.
Anonymous No.42483320
>>42483306
Heck yeah! They probably look so happy and adorable consuming decaying matter!

What if mushroom ponies were divided into different tribes like normal ponies? Maybe they could be divided into hallucinogenic, poisonous and edible shroomponies but the question would be the kind of tribe said shroomponies take after. Personally I think it would be fun if it were like this:
>Hallucinogenic shroomicorns (since those tend to be called magic shrooms)
>Poisonous shroomponies (Since they are more vulenrable they would develop more drastic defense mechanism)
>Edible pegashrooms (Since they can just fly away they don't need to be posonous to survive)
Though I can also see an argument being made for:
>Truffle shroomicorns
>Mold pegasi (Moldasi?)
>Hallucinogenic shroomponies
>Edible shroomponies
What are your thoughts anons?

Thanks to the same reasoning that carnivorous plants use, mushroom ponies have become a warrior race. May god have mercy on us now.
