What's with the sudden influx with mlp and the fandom in the normiesphere?

It's that section of the internet that claims to love the internet and is too normie to actually know the internet, so their source of information is essays and "retrospectives" that last at least an hour and combine seriousness with comedy and irrelevant information.
That, and a little bit of "I'm going to look at this to see if my vague memories about that thing are validated."

Now then let me lay out how the next decade will go. mlp g6 will rival fim in term of quantity of content and fandom members (most of which<20y/o), however the quality will be worse than G%. To avoid this outcome I suggest traumatizing the G6 target audience with pony themed gore. This will gate keep the community, which by extension will preserve the fandoms's integrity. Faust will retcon the show bible due to Hasbro forcing their hand. Haber will be found dead under mysterious circumstances due to an alleged drug overdose. Twitter and YouTube will fall causing Hasbro's online presence to wane. There will be a scandal about Hasbro using AI to create backdrops for official pony toys. As for politics: the western society will continue to wither before regaining it's former glory, as more neutral regions gain appeal. I suggest moving to South Africa or Sweden. Also stock up on gas powered cars. They're worth their weight in gold 10 years from now.

I think the gamer from mars wants to fuck horses as well, but he has to over correct because he's a popular YouTuber. This video was probably a dog whistle to find like minded individuals. He's video could have also done with some better fact checking. For instance he calls them the 'young six' instead of the 'student six', he neglected to mention that Faust had made a series of sarcastic tweets before mentioning the trans character thing, Grogar HAD once existed in the show (he just didn't make a physical appearance), and Spikes age was not analysed in the video (if Twilight hatched him when she was 4, and is currently in her 20s that would place Spike in his late teens) In addition I would like to mention that he did not watch rainbow roadtrip or the best gift ever, which can be considered as later season episodes, furthermore he did not comment on the cmc receiving their cutiemarks. I know Art posts here so hopefully this maes it's way to him.

Young Six is a legitimate way to call the Student Six. Heck, if you google "MLP Young Six" one of the first search results is from the official My Little Pony channel. I hate pedantics that are wrong. Actually, the funny thing about that trans Trixie segment is that when he says that female characters have two eye shines and male character have one eye shine, he shows a stallion... WITH TWO EYE SHINES and compares him to Twilight... who also has two eye shines of course. Nice editing there.

I am 100% not being racist when I say this, but it's Indians. There has been a spike in Indian internet usage. Part of that is a rise in interest in "Internet History" content since they were not on the Internet to this level for the past 20+ years. Video essayists are getting huge spikes in views thanks to them, so they are retreading old ground. MLP fandom is an easy one to target

The funny part is that this shit has LITERALLY been around for more than five years. It took a game that's been out in Japan for two years getting localized and randomly picked up by Twitter posters for it to gain groundswell and acceptance.

This video is a very good example of a lot of the video essays on the fandom these days. They don't really do any research beyond what others have already put out there in the last few years. Notice how the sections on the fandom are most pulling the info straight from other videos like it? They just rely on these videos now. Everything else is going to be buried.

At this point I don't even mind if the video is completely negative. At the very least, please do more research than the same set of events.
