There's probably the odd reference at least. When Wendy takes off her jacket in the ep. where she kicks Cartman's ass, she's wearing a shirt with some pretty My Little Pony-esque characters on it. Not really a bronze ref I guess, but still poni

I remember people going insane over a hoax screenshot of an episode synopsis that said they were planning a brony episode back in 2011
I wouldn't be surprised if they've thought of it but couldn't really come up with a decent storyline
>>42506161
That's a pre-2010 episode, tbf

Me neither. It always came off as pretentious and full of itself, it tries too hard and ends up eye rolling.

I did, especially the first seasons. Death (S1) was one of the funniest cartoon episodes I had ever seen at the time. But nowadays it's all about present day American politics, with gratuitous American B-celebs thrown in that I as a non-American never even heard about (and thus don't give a shit about). They also became less politically neutral and more politically retarded but all media has gone that way these days sadly. It can still make me laugh I guess, but not in the same way the early seasons could. I think the problem started when the focus started shifting from South Park and its characters itself to whatever is in the news at the time.

Quoting from an earlier thread:

>It wasn't politically spicy enough. South Park only cares about ragging on Hollywood celebrities, fear mongering news, and the president, to teach some soapboxing lesson at the end. Earlier South Park might have done a fun brony episode. If modern South Park had to write a brony episode today under duress, it'd tie marenheit to trump supporters. Cartman would have a secret infatuation with Aryanne. Token would be the e-celeb stand in for woot, who calls out Kenny over his FOE cosplay looking somehow racist. It'd end with Stan giving a speech about how the internet sucks but we should all try to get along, until Kyle pipes in with "except nazis because fuck you, Cartman".

Sounds like the delusional ramblings of someone who thinks south park became shit because they made fun of orange man and the q cult demands you oppose anything that doesn't put him on a pedestal.

NTA but they did, but not specifically because they were making fun of him but because they were going way too deep into the boring serialization. South Park is a show I'd like to just pick an episode at random and watch it, I shouldn't have to watch like seven episodes just to understand what the fuck is going on with the "memberberries" and the "Denmark trolls" or whatever.

South Parks not funny anymore for a myriad of reasons. The major ones are the characters becoming complete 1:1 parallels of their voice-actors instead of acting like kids. Randy also becoming just as wacky as his kids used to be and his entire arc for the last 15 years being a midlife crisis. There are no more β€œnormal” episodes its all political or social commentary. They have beaten into the ground the PC Principal, political brainrot of the 2016-2028 era, Tegridy Farms and gentrifying the town and its just gotten tiring.

I thought so too, because all you ever hear is how it supposedly is such a great satire, but i watched some episoes on TV and they weren't about politics at all and rather fun.
