I've been replaying Sulphur Nimbus and it kills me how it never took off.
It's probably the best 3D platformer with flight mechanics ever made but no one will touch it because it's covered in brony/furry cooties.
Underneath its red flags I think it's a really fun and well designed game, and technically impressive considering it was made by one guy with a custom game engine.
I even watched a video about pony fan games and it didn't even get a mention. (I mean, it's technically not a mlp game anymore but it was originally a rainbow dash fan game.)

There was a thread about it here when it released, and I was wondering if anyone is still around who remembers playing it.

It still has what are obviously FIM pones in it and you can mod Dash back in. Close enough for me.

I discovered a neat glitch. (I'd post pictures but I'm not home.)

>instead of fighting it, open the crate near the castle with a miniboss inside it
>lose
Now the boss will be gone but the world will be stuck in the final boss state without the orange sky and with most places blocked off.
There's not much to do, but iirc you can go into Urd's room and push her around.

I replayed it somewhat recently, with the Dash mod on, of course. That was my third time through it, and I still have it as one of my top 5 pony fan game, maybe top three.
I never played as gay griffon thing, and have no intention to. It's a pony game. I am somewhat upset that the dev tried to pull the rug last moment. It's better than leaving it unfinished, but only because Dash can be patched back in.

You don't hover in place like a helicopter. You don't fly in a straight line like a plane. You don't fall in style like Spyro.
Mario 64's wing cap is the only thing that comes close but it's super lame in comparison to this game.

Lastly, I found out Melinda can shoot the miniboss to death.
You can still beat the final boss afterwards, but the music stops playing.

Nta but i compiled the game myself on eclipse and yeah there's no more switch for that. The genitalia is still visible so i think this is the adult version? Maybe i should check for a compile option or whatever in the code to remove the genitalia or delete it from the game files myself

Fanbases need the (trademark) to feed them good stuff.
There's so many retards who refuse to play Spark the Electric Jester and Freedom Planet despite doing Sonic Adventure & Sonic Advance so much better than Sonic.

Years ago I made a mod that only had rainbow dash, maybe you downloaded that one. The one posted in this thread has more characters and stuff, and NSFW options.

iirc it added a texture that made the character's privates more pronounced. It also added red scratches when you take damage, which just made me sad.
The male characters also got little polygonal dicks, which was more funny than anything else.

I'd be cool if this game had a built-in character creator.
I know you can mod them in but real-time editing is way better than messing with text files.

I don't think so. I think the Fighting is Magic takedown spooked him so hard that he tried to scrub the ponies out of this game, and I doubt he'll touch the brand again.

Extremely few people play it (very sadly, since it's fun as fuck). It's no surprise to me that nobody has put in the time to make levels for it.

Dead I think, I haven't heard anything for several years. There's plenty of projects that just die entirely. There was also that big overambitious fallout game, and several others I think.

Eggman Hates Furries is also an absolute gem. It was somewhat popular for a time and often gets mentioned in Sonic fan game discussions.
