actually stirring ganache properly is kinda tricky. well, to be more accurate, balancing the heat.. too high and it scorches, too low and it won't integrate, and if a speck of moisture gets into it, the whole thing will seize up (though that's not necessarily the end, you can put in more chocolate and stir for a long time and it can regain its shine)
