Good. There is absolutely nothing better for the site than Seth selling it for good. The site has been going downhill since Cal left and the people running it have no idea how to keep it afloat.

What EQD actually needs is someone that still gives a shit cause clearly Seth is only passionate about AI and Open Pony. Every other thing he posts looks like someone that wanted off the ride for a decade. It was kind of interesting to see him actually have passion in anything again, even if it's something kind of tangentially related to pony.

I do admire that EQD is still doing the traditional "fluttershy picture compilation posts" and changing themes a lot and scouting fimfics and keeping up on some things, and not to discount the work that people on the site for those posts cuz it does take some effort, but it's basically doing it just to do it. It's like a walking ancient corpse that nobody wants to actually kill because it'd symbolize how dead the fandom really is, or just kill it further.

Not everything. By the time archiving started in 2014, some early posts would’ve been deleted. These were from the early MLPG days when the site was still very closely tied with the thread. I forgot what they contained, but there’s probably some art/stories that would not fit the more tame EqD when it got really popular.

/mlpol/ is a fun meme but it actively harms pone. Mare Fair works much better as an underground, invite-only/for those-in-the-know con.

The moment it gains notoriety or people start mistaking it for a regular pony con, that's when newsletters start speaking out against it, when mainstream news and social media reinforce the stereotype that watching pony = pdf, three stars, or worse, cringe

And as veteran creators leave or die, newer members get put off by the fandom and leave, and the shareholders refuse to do anything with the IP because it damages the brand, we slowly die out.

Mare Fair should reject tourists or it actively damages the very community it tries to cater to.
