I thought they were okay. I appreciate how the transformation made them more beetle-like and I can see what the designers were going for when they said they wanted to a visual indicator for them finding their individuality.
I just wish the colors weren’t so garish and pastel. If they all had darker/earthier color schemes (like Pharynx for example) I’d like the designs a lot more. As it is in the show their colors are too ponylike for my liking and there’s not enough distinction between the two.
