LET ME PLAY AMONG THE STARS

I wrote a silly story about the princesses, and recently commissioned a one-page comic about it. You can find the saucier versions on the boorus. I'll post the version without dialogue.

This is a very short story because it was written for a monthly event called Flashfic, where the goal is to write a story according to a prompt in under 150 words. The prompt was "AI (Alicorn Infestation) Took My Job", in light of current fears about AI, and I chose to write a story about the princesses becoming fertile and having so many divine children that it started to leave ponies without anything to do. Princess Celestia blushed, glancing beneath the letter at the newest alicorn inside her. She looked to Princess Luna, with a foal on her lap and another *in* her lap. “Luna, how old is Nubes, your eldest?”

“Fifty years, practically foal.”

From two to one hundred alicorns. “Luna, are we having too many foals?”

“Nay. Ponies should lead lives of leisure, as in days of yore.”

Luna’s foal was adorable. “Just a few more.”

I want to write down my thoughts here over lucid and vivid dreaming, and my goals to use them to meet Luna and eventually the rest of Equus and its equine population. A day before yesterday I was able to lucid dream with Luna, and yesterday I was able to hear her voice slightly when I was falling asleep in between some dreams I didn't care for as they had no ponies and had no lucidity. I want to improve my ability to experience more realistic dreams with lucidity, and have these dreams with higher frequency. I have to do a few things first, for now those would be the acquisition of materials that contribute to lucid and vivid dreams such as DMT / B12 / Moonstone / Galantimine / Mugwort / etc. I also want to write down how I perceive Luna and Equus in my own dreamscape, as every anon has a different interpretation of their waifu and the Equestrian realm. In the future, I want my subconscious to learn enough about how I want the dreamscape of Equestria to manifest for me by writing down world rules and drawing / gathering visual input of the realm. This way when I do enter the Equestrian dreamscape, by subconscious fills in the details and makes the dreamscape fully detailed and interactable. I envision ponies faithfully to the show, even so, the only alteration is that they're crafted to exist in our 3d environment, instead of being less tangible 2D vectors. An example of how they look to me is similar to DJthed's models. I have trained this part of my subconscious, as my first lucid dream with Luna illustrated her in this form (photorealistic and 3-dimensional, while being entirely faithful to her appearance). The way I want to further perfect Luna in my dreams is to envision her as a materialized thoughtform / tulpa that is powered by my subconscious, in which she would be aware she is a creation of me

I relate this to a Ponkfag in the Waifu Wednesday general that created a tulpa of Pinkie that he visits in his dreams, in which his Pinkie is aware of the circumstances and creation of her existence. It makes sense that I want to reach Luna through more lucid dreaming, as she is the dream pony in the lore of Equestria. In that way, I believe I could truly make Luna real if I can conjure a dream realistic enough. I believe Luna is real in dreams, but I currently have not trained myself enough, nor have the materials and edibles, to fully see her yet in a form identical to the waking world. A vivid dream is simply a realistic one that has things such as visual narrative, where things are fixed and clearly detailed, instead of the murky foggy mess that dreams tend to be. Lucidity is awareness you're in a dream, which is necessary as lucidity in dreams typically allow for you to have powers over your dreams (I would need this in case of a nightmare or something undesirable materializing in the dreamscape) although I hope I can reach Luna immaculately enough she would eradicate some undesirable creatures of darkness for me.

I think Princess Luna looks good with freckles, like how the moon has craters. What do you guys think?

I have these as headcanon. My feeling on cosmic objects appearing in her mane is that it happens when she is feeling strong emotions like anger, deep sadness, lust, etc. When it does happen her mane and tail almost become like a window into deep space. It would look like you could reach into her mane and touch a comet, planet, or star

For my endeavor in the dreamscape, I have to envision how I see Luna as a character. Like in her earlier episodes, I prefer Luna speaking "Old Ponish" (Shakespearean). Besides being cute it paints her as some type of beautiful, mystical relic of past eras, almost like fine wine. The purple and blue gothic esthetic to her quarters and guards are great. I relate to Luna's character mostly in canon, such as in Luna Eclipsed, or Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep. The feeling of not being appreciated is extremely generic, albeit relatable. I relate to her much more with the Tantabus, which I see as an allegory for a situation in which you were the villain, and have to find a way to cope with it. I've had several moments like these, and all because of my own actions. Certain waifufags get the shorter end of the stick, such as Lyrafags and Nursefags, where 90% of their character is headcanon. Most of the fanon elements I would apply to Luna is the illustration of her abilities. In the show she is responsible for safeguarding your dreams, but I'd extend more to creatures of darkness that exist only in the dreamscape. These creatures have to be dealt with by her, or they terrorize ponies (such as the Headless Mare) or escape into the real world (such as the Tantabus). So if my lucid dream is becoming more of a nightmare and I lack the power to fix it, I'm hoping she will do it for me. She isn't given the Worf Effect either in my dreamscape. I also imagine Luna as using dark magic and lightning, which she sometimes uses in the show, as well as being more "martial" than Celestia, which is already typical in fanon for her. This small excerpt from a previous /moon/ thread describes Luna's physicality well.

Given the slender nature of her flash body rig in G4's animation, this physicality choice for her is respectable.

Another "fanon" thing that I forgot to mention with Luna is that I see her as an avid fan, and highly knowledgeable, of space and or space travel. I think casual space walks and star gazing is characteristic of her, or her having a rustic study filled with blueprints of impractical interplanetary vehicle concepts such as the Jules Verne space gun. The last thing I'll say with canon and fanon is over NM. I can see Nightmare Moon as both the same pony and a separate entity. She can shapeshift freely between NM and herself in the show, so I learn towards the former. I hope my subconscious can fill out the finer details to her. I don't know how she would react if she were to meet me. I wouldn't want to choose how she would react to me as it would feel artificial, but I'm confident it wouldn't be negative - I'd be fine with skeptical. I'd be grateful just to be in her presence, although she would be aware that she's a creation of tulpamancy, that is given sapience and body by my subconscious, aware I created her and her realm. I want to catalog all my ramblings over her including a dream diary in the event I get more lucid dreams or just pony dreams in general. I also have to write how I envision Equestria and the whole of Equus, but that will be for later. The real goal is an encounter with her indistinguishable from the waking world.

I had a lot of rambling I was gonna do, but I think I'll just leave it at how we learned a new thing about her every episode she was the focus of. From Nightmare Moon to the dreamwalking to the Tantabus.

I also really like her S2 redesign. The stars in her mane, how some people draw her with freckles and constellations (as freckles or in her mane).

And she kind of has that aura, you know? Sort of reserved, mysterious. She holds her feelings closer to her chest than her sister. It makes sense after everything that happened, but it makes you feel like you want to help her or something. I guess I'm rambling a bit anyway.

Cool, now we get proper Mass Effect crossover into our Halo crossover. I don't know if I'm worse or better off having not played either franchise. I do like the little affectionate goodbye to Nightmare as well as her joke about eating fillies in the previous update. If I have one criticism it's that the story lacks more moments like these or at least a bit more descriptions about how the characters act, their body language etc. Nightmare for example constantly gives me the impression of carrying herself with cold stoicism, even when she's in private with the man she loves (with the exception of those two previously mentioned moments). And don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about changing her character - more like give us more glimpses into what her character looks like.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm trying to balance a lot here between the plot and the story between Moony and Sean. I felt like I spent too long setting up this mission, rapidly changing pov's that would get information I thought was key for the reader to understand what was going on. I do want to now focus on the two main characters, especially now that they're separated and out of their comfort zones.
For Halo and ME, and this megacrossover in general, I'm keeping away from the games' stories so the reader can learn about these firmaments along with the characters. I make references, but for the most part these are all familiar settings I like to use to set up the story I want to tell. Unoriginal, of course, but here I am writing MLP greentext. I do it because I love these places and want to mash all of the toys that are in my head together into one story.

I didn't find season 6 to be as bad as many people here make it out to be, they think season 7 is a lot better than 6 but 7 was pretty boring for me.
Luna came out pretty unscathed if you just ignore the last two seasons. I tried watching S8 and S9 thinking it wouldn't be that bad, but there is genuinely no point in watching other than for completion. You can keep going if you want to, but it's going to be a drag.
Just watch S6 and S7, the movie, Best Gift Ever and Rainbow Roadtrip. Other than there is only Sounds of Silence from S8 that is worth watching.
