What would change in the world of MLP if it was patriarcal instead of matriarcal?

I suppose Prince Blueblood would be the monarch of Equestria since he's the closest to being male in accordance to Salic Law. So Equestria would be a bit more snobby or more like the Harry Flashman comics with more noble speak.

It would certainly lead to the collapse of society. Nature intended for mares to be the leaders and stallions to submit to them.

equestrian society is really only only a matriarchy in that the leaders are all female. there's nothing indicating that mare and stallions are treated all that differently, be it culturally or legally.
