Well I’ve wanted a Dashite brand ever since I read FoE one because I think they have an admirable philosophy and two because I already have one other brand and I knew that a homemade brand probably wouldn’t come out super clean, and Dashite brands are consistently described as ugly so I figured it would be a good choice compared to like, an actual waifu brand that I would want to come out crisp. So I bent up some wire, stuck it in a gas stove and smacked it on my arm. It retrospect I wish I had made it a little bigger just to get a little more detail out of it, but at the time I had an arrangement with my significant other to get something less overt.

Not that I am recommending other people go out and give themselves third degree burns, because I’m sure that there’s, y’know, a real risk of infection or whatever but tbdesu it wasn’t very bad. I’d say vaguely on the level of accidentally kicking a dresser in the middle of the night and breaking a toe level of pain. And I just did your standard wound care for a small burn, cool water on it for half an hour, then wet bandages and disinfectant for a few days until it scabbed over and dry bandages after that until it healed up. As I recall, I was visiting my brother’s city at the time and immediately afterwards my brother invited me to watch The Rings of Power which had just premiered, and that was a considerably more unpleasant experience than the branding.

I think one of the rarest things that I have is a MLP Series 1 Trading Card, #1 of 84 "Twilight Sparkle". When you bought a pack of Series 1 trading cards, each pack came with a card between 73 - 84 which had a sweepstakes code on the back to enter at Enterplay.com. Turns out I won the sweepstakes. The prize was a non-numbered card that was signed by a voice actor on the show. I won the card that was signed by Tara Strong. If you notice, the bottom right of the card has no number. Also, before you ask, they mailed it in a simple clear card sleeve so I had to put it into a plastic case I had on-hand.
So, if you are really into the Trading Cards and thought you had them all... no you don't.

Well then. It's finally that time of year. I'm scratching off the rust and look forward to the next 3ish months of cheer. Forgive me if my obsession with The Anni marathon keeps me from feeling the holiday cheer until November.

Well, let's just dump all the info here.
Neighborhood.fm is hosted on a website called Citrus 3 for ~$30 a month and has been since what, 2021? I'm too dumb/lazy/not at liberty to self host or set up anything like that. It's not as slick as horse radio, but the maintenance I have to put in is usually minimal. They just switched to icecast from shoutcast and needed to be re-set up on my end (which is why it was down). That's why the programming atm is just a random block til I get a day off. If y'all have any suggestions, requests, or criticisms please let me know! I try not to advertise since it's just a fun little gift for the thread that you can interact with or ignore at will; I get no kickbacks or anything. There's no (actual) ads, though there's a couple anons that always post in thread for some reason.
Program-wise I'm going to do the Chompy greens, Santa's aquarium asmr, album list throughs, and thinking about artist spotlights that cover people who have done multiple songs for /ss/.

I've gone through and curated the songs posted each year and tried to make a CD length "album" to get the essence of that year's /ss/. Whether I've succeeded or failed is up to interpretation, but you can look at the raw files/albums at derpy.me/SSongs. Any songs that can't fit are put into that year's "bonus album".
I've done that up through 2021, but '22-'24 are in the works.

Finally, just on some stats, looks like we're tilted pretty heavily USA this year, more than usual. Of our 142 current signups, 105 are from the states.
