FiM is obviously post-Wizards where Celestia and Luna are actually mutated horses who stayed low for the 2 million years which allowed griffons, diamond dogs, etc. to mutate and come into being with ponies, who eventually came to rule the contitent they called Equestria. Because English is the primary language of the Wizards universe, it survives to FiM too.

But what does Modern Ponish sound like? Old Ponish sounds a lot like the Germanic languages of yesteryear, so maybe Modern Ponish would be something like German or Swedish.
>>42691371 >english is a germanic language >old english sounded pretty similar to old german >modern english came from old english >old ponish sounds germanic >"uhhhhh, they must be speaking german or swedish or norweigan"

No G1 through G4 are cannon with each other. MLP Tales was cannon as the future after G4 until G5 was made. Repeat villains from G1 and old pony tribal nations in G3 are part of the lore in G4.

Tales was the result of interbreeding with humans, and adopting their culture. G2 was a dark age after the worlds separated. The generations are all in order.

Old English sounded pretty close to modern Germanic languages. Then, after Wilhelm the Conqueror invaded England, the language got heavily FROGGED.com due to Norman influence, resulting in modern English being more Frenchy than the continental Germanic languages.
The fags you're replying to are retarded.
The three combined to speak Middle English around the time the princesses took over; thus, Luna should speak middle english. English then developed over 1000 years to become what it is in the show.
