Never been a big fan of Danielita's mix between EQG and real anatomy.

Pick a lane, either make them fully humanized or on-model, half-assing it just looks weird

So what do you do if you can't draw realistic faces very well?
I ask as someone who's currently working on EQG artwork with more realistically proportioned bodies.

Not him, but I would just stick to eqg in that case. He's right. I like full-on humanized, and I also like the cartoony proportions of mlp/eqg, but mixing the two where you have eqg vectors with realistic human proportions looks off, like someone just took an eqg head and pasted it on a traced human body or something.

Dang. Definitely won't be on this one then; I already have the low poly pose & proportion references done.

You know what? While we're discussing it, I might as well try and get some feedback.
Here's a (mostly) finished B&W Trixie of roughly what I'm talking about. Left is color ref using a modified vector.

And to clarify, the Trixie is separate from the piece I was originally talking about.

(>>42705776 & >>42705899 are both me, in case the sudden flag causes confusion.)

This is how you browns lie to yourselves? Also take note that even if you had a /fit/ body Wallflower AKA (You) still has ugly brown eyes and disgusting gypsy hair and ughhh freckles all over the body like all disgenics. She's disgenic, you know what that is?

You gotta try to stick to one or the other. Practice until you get it right. I've seen Earth Pony Colds and AshleysPonies detailing their studies on how to get it right a few months ago.

As it is right now, you're closer to regular cartoon than real life anatomy or EQG. That's good, it takes a third route and doesn't look bad. Especially since it has all of Trixie's clothes and an expressive face, unlike the header pic in which the focus is Wallflower's sex appeal, putting it's flaws on full display.

My aryan queen.
I think it only looks odd when you take their big heads and try to put them on realistic bodies. Yours looks fine. Don't know if it's the weeb in me, but I always find EQG works well in anime artstyles.

Maybe it was a subconscious "dumb blonde" stereotyping, but honestly I can't see her as anything other that white, and her (already light colored) hair just feels like it'd be blonde. Possible she'd dye her hair blue for stage recognition though.

>>42706447
Ah. Yeah, I didn't want to get super detailed and make it hard to draw; I just hate the original barbie anatomy and wanted something more sane.

As a second example, here's an unfinished Scoots.

Could be the fivehead. I've been trying to reduce the head size and weirdness in my EQG art experiments. Not directly copying the head (and drawing it as a better shape from the ground up) probably helps.

(Also >>42708195 was me again...)
