Yep, who knew ol' TJ had it in him? Rips your heart clean out. The Apples are some of the hardest work and most dependable ponies out there and writers everywhere seem determined to make them suffer.
You know what? Screw all that. >New head canon: Pear Butter and Bright Mac are alive and well. They are always either off helping out other Apple homesteads, working behind the barn whenever someone comes to visit Sweet Apple Acres, or are just offscreen (Pinkie Pie joke goes here).

This leads to a hilarious misunderstanding between the main 6 (minus Aj obviously), the CMC (minus Apple Bloom obviously), and Cheerilee (she knows they're alive) when Pear and Bright show up to a parent teacher meeting (due to something-something CMC tree sap adventure go+ Diamond Tiara being a bitch again). Zombie/ghost jokes ensue, the CMC & DT make up, and then they all have apple pie at the farm. The End.
