You cannot compare Q to Wesley. Besides, I think Q works in the more complicated world of Star Trek whereas Discord kind of fucks up the idea of friendship in MLP's simpler world. If he was a more distant friend to Fluttershy I think it would be better, but as someone closer to the Mane 6 he acts like a dick.
