You could tell Jan actually liked working with animations with or without ponies. It makes sense to drop everything MLP related once you get a C&D, but still be grateful for your previous MLP community still supporting you despite not being able to make content for them anymore

yes, he's probably russian, his patreon description is "coздaёт Animations", he hires his russian friend to make weird music and his channel recommends russian channels. It's not the worst part tho, it amazes me that he barely improved, his animations look identical 10 years ago. This is how lack of competition and unwillingness to go beyond comfort zone looks like. And the mlp community still eats it up and thinks it's "show accurate" and set the bar low, because there's barely any of the fan g4 animators left

I can understand it, in his shoes I would've been afraid to continue on as well after having been served a C&D by such a huge company. They can pay entire teams of lawyers out to get people who violate these sort of agreements. And it's not like the pool of top-shelf fan animators was so large you could've flown under the radar for long.
I don't know the specific restrictions, so I do wonder if he could've continued making pony animations in the same style but featuring nothing from the show.

He said he doesn't belong because he outgrew pony, the C&D was his easy out. They're both bandwagoners and they know it. Stop trying to lump in professional artists that sold their souls and moved on. They're not like us. They're not fan artists.
