I doubt it's pleasant, but their lips are loose enough for it to not be uncomfortable, I guess. They probably have a good rapport so the horse is more tolerant of human shenanigans.

What did that guy do to piss the horse off thar much. I've never seen a horse literally go for a kill this hard. They usually bite or kick once and leave. This horse has murderous intent.

Nothing dangerous about that. The danger is in doing this as an (to the animal) smaller, weaker creature. Never let children approach an animal without staying close to them.
