Miss /mlp/ 2025: Afterparty Cont.
>>42766886 Previous thread
Welcome to the conclusion of the 2025 Princess /mlp/ pageant, where your favorite ladies from across all aspects of the franchise be it canon, fandom, or memery were judged and selected for who is most deserving of being crowned board royalty

The afterparty continues on as we celebrate our newest Miss /mlp/ for 2025, Pinkie Pie! As we congratulate the Element of Laughter along with our cheerful runner-up Minuette, third place Pear Butter, fourth Roseluck and all our lovely contestants, I am still also running the Post-Pageant Questionnaire which I typically like to leave for a a few days following the end of a pageant to collect as much feedback as possible. If you have not filled it out yet, it offers the chance to provide feedback and commentary on how the pageant was run, changes that were suggested to its format, and what you would like to see going forward. In addition, for those who haven't had their fill of voting just yet, a few exhibition matches featuring Pinkie Pie going against the previous winners of Miss /mlp/. Even if you've already filled it out, you need only re-open the form and fill out the new questions then re-submit.

And as always, thank you all for making this contest what it is

Tavi's actually always been a strong contender. This is isn't her first time in the top 8, she's made it as far as 4th place, and this year she was even the #1 Seed. She only lost to Pinkie who won the whole thing, she's going to take it one of these years

>With the commotion settling down you took a trip to Ponyville.
>You always liked the quaintness here and some of your best friends lived around here.
>You had just sat your rump down for a quick lunch when you saw a pony across from your table reading the newspaper.
>THIS YEARS MISS MLP IS PONYVILLE'S OWN PINKIE PIE
>The emotions of just the other day came crashing back again, but the waves weren't as high.
>It must be nice for town pride to have the best Equestrians here year after year.
"That sure was a crazy day...! heh."
>A white horn poked out over the parchment, and snort of breath.
>Leaning over with interest you guessed it was... Rarity taking another beating with a sulking.
>Not exactly a bestie, but still a good pony everyone knows.
>Couldn't see her mane but you tried to lighten the mood with an icebreaker.
"Another year for us back to the beginning, huh?"
>Hooves tightened around the pages, but no reply.
>Maybe pointing out that you were both failures wasn't the best idea.
>Your eyes fell down to glance at the other end of the pages.
>Dental stocks taking a hit.
>Ahh, probably just a coincidence.
"Second place is good too, right?"
>"Well, it's certainly better than 7th, 5th and 14th."
>Oof.
>Definitely hit a sore spot, you know the dance when you strike a nerve.
>"How about 22nd, and 26th?"
>Your ears flopped, you didn't know she's been keeping track.
>Lowering the pages she only glowered, her pink cheeks hid the steam behind a scrunch.
>"I suppose you'd like to place 98th then, mwhah Rarity barely breaking a top 100?"
"Okay, okay I get i-"
>"Even a yellow dog can do better!"
>You tried to think of any yellow canines who were in a pageant but can't think of any, and filed in the back of your head as grasping at haystraws
"Wha-huh, dogs?, Are you feeling okay?"
"And you got into the top 8 and 16 plenty of times, that's better than most mares"
>"Yes... and then my victory is snatched away from me like a bandit!!"
>You scoffed, amused
"Come on, Rarity. You don't think you were cheated every time, do you?"
>"Oh yes, darling, I most certainly do."
>"And like a true scoundrel they won't even reveal themselves!"
>Time to push back.
>You couldn't accept that kind of thinking
>All the wins would mean nothing, your feelings over it, and... Pinkie?
>"Maybe... maybe it's this attitude? Nopony likes a sore loser, Rar."
>She wasn't having it. "No it's-it's just jealousy."
"And at least you can try again next year, in case you forgot I have to sit out!"
>She slammed the newspaper down on the table. "Oh yes, that's how it always is. Let Rarity try again so we can kick her down again!"
"We, who is 'we'?"
>"Somepony is deliberately TARGETING ME, and I have the proof. I've been collecting it all, those nasty things left around."
"No way, who would want to do that?"
>You were all for girl-gossip but this seemed like a stretch.

I don't remember Steven cucking anybody.
Now his DAD on the other hand, that absolute gigachad cucked a lesbian. And then he was getting ready to seduce two more galactic conquerors in order to save the Earth. Man's a treasure, him and Peridot are the only based characters in that show.

>You couldn't help but snicker.
"Uhuh-aha, and you have this, proof right now, like now-now?"
>"Well no, but it's still being gathered and will be given to Twilight to sort out."
>A dramatic pause.
>"...But after aaall the evidence. I am positive the culprits will be brought to light!"
>You fell silent, hooves resting together.
"And what about... Pinkie?"
>Of course you had to know.
>"What about her?"
>Brushing a hoof under your chin, if nothing else her outbursts could be entertaining.
"I read up after, it was you or her. Do you think just because YOU lost it's rigged?"
>"Of course not! Don't be rash. But they don't make it a GAME out of it for HER."
" 'They' and 'We' this is pretty hard to believe, you know, you're kinda sounding a little coo-coo."
>"The numbers darling, it's all in the numbers."
>She slid a closed envelope over.
>Curiosity got to you, you weren't even humoring her, you genuinely wanted to know what the hay she was talking about.
>Did she actually have anything proving it was fixed? With a swift motion you had opened
>Pulling out documents.

"This is just... the results?"
>"I wasn't the only one who was hit this year, oooooh no, they went and out did themselves."
"Oh, so? Really, who else did this this mysterymare-hater shake up?
>She leaned over, whispering in your ear making it flick.
>"Why our dear Fluttershy, of course. And they didn't go after MysteryMare."
"Fluttershy."
"Like the Fluttershy I had to beat?"
>She nodded "The very same."
"So you don't think you losing to Pinkie Pie was rigged, Fluttershy was?"
"Hahaha, you're a hoot. How does that make any sense at all?"

"They do? Huh, that's interesting, I never noticed."

Responses for the Post-Pageant Poll have slowed to a crawl, so I will take the chance later this evening (about six hours from now) to show the results both of the questionnaire and the Exhibition matches between our previous Miss /mlp/'s. If you haven't answered the poll yet, you have six more hours to get it in - otherwise the poll will remain open for more feedback but the results of the Exhibition matches will be finalized. And following that the floor can also be open to discussion on changes for upcoming Mr. /mlp/ to implement (which as a reminder is planned for November 21st)

Plenty to go over here with the poll this year, with 122 total responses here is where the results look like so far:

>Randomized Brackets
Randomized vs Seeding remains a divided topic. A solid 50% of you approved in it this year, another 35% were mixed and 15% disapproving. People who enjoy Randomized like it for the unpredictability and how it often gives less popular mares more of a chance than Seeding, but its detractors point out how it sometimes sees popular candidates knocked out far earlier than they should. Others point out how randomized AND 256 entrants was a bad combination, but would be fine with either or.

Going forward, remember there's a Preliminary thread around the start of Oct choosing Randomized vs Seeding. If you prefer one or the other, that is the time to make the call.

>Plus Sized 256 Entrant
Very positive 70% reception for our extra sized bracket this year, the consensus being more mares = more fun. Others felt there were too much filler but appreciated how candidates who don't make it into the tourney at all or fall out early managed to make it further this year thanks to the expanded bracket. I will keep this in mind, but for now if there are going to be change-ups to the Tournament format, keeping the number to a manageable 128 would be better for the sake of experimentation. But I am remembering a lot of you enjoyed having this many ponies in the running and there will come a chance for us to do it again.

>Mini-Brackets
Many people enjoyed the Mini-Brackets again this year, 65% approving how Best Background and Best OC got extra large brackets to work with. While generally liked, there are notes that they are growing predictable: anons are seeing the same categories get voted year to year and some feel like they had less thought put into them than others. Others wouldn't mind seeing them go in favor of a return to the Loser's Bracket or another type of tournament, but as long as there's general approving of the Mini-Brackets keep up I can continue to run them. If people do get tired of the returning brackets, I can implement a year-long wait rule like we do with the Top 4 in the tourney as to change up the Mini's year to year.

>Security Questions
Solid 57% approval of the continued use of the Security Questions with conflicting complaints: many responses argue they're too easy, at most requiring a search through archives, others that they are far too hard/obscure to find and sour the event for them. And of course there is the issue with the answers being too easily shared with others. Others think it is doing its job in keeping out off-boarders but would want more variety to the questions and offered suggestions for how to change the format: something a few of you suggested I think is actually doable based on existing script I use is to randomize the questions for each user so they cannot spread the answers to the thread, I think this is something that can be done and will see about implementing it.
PageantAnon !!ROv+0ocHQ3t No.42773397 [Report] >>42773402
>>42773394
>Voter Registration
A 56% majority of you voted against the idea of setting up 'Voter Registration' in order to participate in Miss /mlp/. The idea was having to register in advance would stop riggers from being able to vote multiple times on the spot, but issues brought up with include registration diminishing the anonymity that comes with being on /mlp/ and being too serious a measure for the contest, no guarantee that they won't miss the 'Registration thread' and thus be screwed out of being able to vote in Miss /mlp/ at all if they do, as well as it not inherently stopping the issue with rigging as nothing would stop riggers from 'registering' multiple times. There is also good advice in here however included about setting up UUID's with registration and Helios verification that I can look into, and some others suggested that registration also being allowed DURING the contest in case they miss the sign up thread, with the only caveat being that they won't be able to vote in the current round but the next one.

>New website
A 56% majority voted FOR the creation of a new website to host on in favor of Google Forms. As I mentioned in the poll, I will make an effort in the next year to learn some development and see about making a site, but I must reiterate I can only try: I have no experience with building a site in general, much less one that will completely fit all the requirements of polling as Forms already provides in addition to implementing any security that would be required to make such a site worth it. After all if the site does nothing to reduce rigging in the end there'd be no point, and I have gotten concerns in the comments that my self-admitted inexperience with making a website might well lead into even more rigging or even a data-breach.

That said, if it's something that people want to see done I can still give it a try with as much time allows in my life outside the pageants. I also want to thank everyone in particular who commented on this one with advice and information about finger-printing, UUID's, PC-ID's, concerns with IP/VPN tracking, the concerns of each method, links to locations/teams where I can learn more on site building and especially those who've even offered contact info for me to reach out to for help, if I am able to take on this task I will likely need it.

>Google Forms 'Require Email'
A majority voted 'NO' on this poll in that you would not like to require your email to be shared in order to vote
>New site info (PC-ID) collection
A majority also voted 'NO' on this poll that they would like to protect their anonymity and information in Miss /mlp/, and would not want information collected even in the pursuit of mitigating rigging.
(1/2)

>>42773397
(2/2)
I will continue looking into any scripts or methods that might be used to identify multiple account usage that respects the privacy of voters, either on Google Forms or for use on a new site. This of course being an Anonymous site, I get why people are preferring to share as little personal / machine info as possible. It is just an unfortunate side effect that more anonymity makes samefagging with multiple accounts to vote easier. I have gotten good advice on the form though to make it difficult for voting multiple times even without ID's simply by making the form more tedious, which while I'm sure might not go over well would at least be something you'd want to do only once. Suggestions like writing a short essay or drawing a picture to upload, or breaking up the votes by page/section rather than having them all easily selectable on one page, suggestions like that might help mitigate rigging as well.

>Suggestions for new Tourney Format
>Complete Randomization
A solid 66% majority voted for trying out randomizing the match-ups every round rather than just at the beginning, insuring that there will be no predicting who will go up against who in the coming round and limiting the capacity for 'strategic voting' with the added unpredictability.

>Loser's Bracket
Another 71% solid percentage voted YES for wanting a return to the Loser's Bracket, its first usage since 2020, to allow a second chance for characters who got a poor match-up on the main bracket to continue onwards.

>Two-Tiered Tournament
A 65% majority voted 'NO' for trying out a two-tiered tournament, the idea of splitting the tournament into two smaller ones categorized by some means of determining which belongs in the upper tier and the lower tier - suggests called for making a specific section in the Qualifiers poll denoting who you'd want in one vs the other, other to go by more objective data like # of episode appearances, spoken lines, ranking by past performances in the tourneys, and even the amount of porn they have I got this one more than once. I think it's an interesting idea but I think its rules need to be clarified in more detail, which is something we can do with the rest of the thread.

In the case of a two-tiered tournament, a majority voted that 32 should be the maximum number allowed for the 'Upper' tier tourney.
PageantAnon !!ROv+0ocHQ3t No.42773404 [Report] >>42773407
>>42773402
>Trying it out for Mr. /mlp/
In any case, a 62% majority voted that we should try something new for Mr. /mlp/ and see how it goes, which is something you can expect to see on November 21st. I think it would be best not to try too many things at once though, so I think we should focus in on one of the options we want most and if the thread cannot reach a concensus, it is something I can put into one more poll to vote on.
>Randomized Every Round
>Loser's Bracket
>Two-Tiered Tournament
>Swiss System (suggested a number of times in the comments)
There are also a number of respondents who specifically asked to change NOTHING about the tournament, and arguments for that are welcome as well. Mr. /mlp/ is often seen however as a safer testing ground for new ideas than Miss /mlp/, so if there is anything we want to try just to see how it does, this is the tourney to do it.

And now, for the results of our Exhibition Matches featuring our newest Princess of the board, miss /mlp/ 2025 Pinkie Pie, going up against her predecessors
>Miss /mlp/ 2019
It's an extremely close match-up between our two Earth Pony Mane 6, but by only a single vote /mlp/ has leaned towards parties over apples as Pinkie Pie takes the win with 50.6%! This marks only the second time Applejack has been bested in these post pageant polls, she lost last year to Derpy and previously had been undefeated before that.
>Miss /mlp/ 2020
Rainbow Dash had a very rough run this year in the Royal Round Robin, but now the pegasus can hold her head up high as she claims a win over Pinkie Pie in her exhibition match, also by only a single vote at 50.6%
>Miss /mlp/ 2021
Hopefully Pinkie has plenty of cake and party games to cheer up this poor little filly, as the party horse comes out on top of Verity in a 53.2% victory.
>Miss /mlp/ 2022
This year, even the enigmatic and mysterious princess of the night will be made to smile as Pinkie Pie bounds over the moon princess Luna in a 55.7% finish, her biggest win of the exhibition matches.
>Miss /mlp/ 2023
Facing her final Mane 6 winner, Pinkie Pie gets Twilight to ditch the books and hit the dance floor, our fun-loving champion besting purple smart by 51.9%
>Miss /mlp/ 2024
And finally, going up against her most immediate predecessor, Pinkie Pie's victory streak is finally cut short as the cross-eyed cutie Derpy Hooves takes the win with 51.9%! Derpy, as it were, made history in her exhibition matches last year by getting a full sweep against all her predecessors, the only winner to ever do so, and now having beat Pinkie as well it would seem Derpy is still undefeated in the Post-Pageant polls.

As a reminder, the poll is still open for you to share any commentary/suggestions/feedback on Miss /mlp/

I don't get how. If my wife were still in the running and I knew she could face any strong opponent in the next round, do you know what I’d do? I’d vote against every strong option I could, and so would every other waifufag who cares about nothing except his wife making it to the end. So now, instead of getting strat-voted out by Lyrafags one round before your matchup, your mare is getting strat-nuked by every waifufag out of fear of going against her in the next round. If your wife is in the top 20 and you voted for this, then congrats, you're stupid and your wife is going to lose.
