Normally I'm not a BIG Rush fan. I really like 2112 and Moving Pictures, and always dug Fly By Night, but have listened to little else. I'm almost done listening to Hemispheres for the first time however and I'm pretty impressed. La Villa Strangiato is especially good.

All of their instrumentals are good. But I'm not the biggest fan myself. I like the first album's straight rock sound the most.

It’s one of the greatest prog albums ever recorded, that is a fact.

OP, you should definitely give Signals and Grace Under Pressure a few listens. It’s peak synth Rush before they went to shit for about 10 years.

I don't like these so much because they don't fully commit to the 80s sound. Power Windows is better.

Exactly. It's the lyrics that are frequently hamfisted and shoehorned. It took me a few years to realize this. They were my favorite band in high school but overtime I saw they were not perfect. Still good though.

Every album has a least one good song, but yeah peaked with this and Farewell, everything after is radio music or enough synths to gibe you an aneurysm. (i say that but waves and pictures are no skip albums for me)

Don't miss out on Hold Your Fire, it's actually my favorite and last 80s synth Rush album. It would be a perfect 10 Rush album without Tai Shan imo.

Rush is the greatest rock band of all time and anyone who says otherwise is a huge faggot. Every album up to and including Counterparts is kino.

Clockwork Angels was a great way for them to finish their career, and the tour was one of the best large-scale rock concerts I've ever seen.
